  1. I had issue with my .951 boot and intuition pro tongue. There was always a pressure where tongue meets the back area of the liner (muscle right next to the shin on outside).
i cut off some of the tongue and it relieved some pressure last year but this year I changed it to intuition SBX wrap (thanks to @Mr.E and I have no issues at all. I am all for wrap type now.

i also have Northwave .350 and I am using intuition pro wrap with no issues.

True, however I thought this was going to be a big deal for me but it turns out it's just not.  In UPZs I had to stop and buckle my 3 lower buckles at the top of each run anyway.  In Deeluxe, I'd have to buckle the ankle buckle.  I don't have to mess with buckles on my .951s, so doing just the one toe clip is actually saving me time, lol.  And it's not like step-ins are instant-in every time all the time.  They require confirmation.  And right around 32F/0C they can be a PITA with ice buildup.

I totally agree with this and I used to unbuckle my UPZ before getting on the lift but I never unbuckle my 951 and I even forget to unbuckle them when I am drinking beer at the Après. in addition, it is the most consistent flex in all temperature in the business.

At first I was complaining about the cost as the cost may be higher than others but I have not had any issue with the boots and this is my 4th season. Extra parts are easy to obtain from them if needed and well worth the $$$.

.951 with 120 stiffness have different plastic cuff & shell. not only change spring & tongues.
.951 with 130 stiffness (RD) have different plastic cuff & shell but tongues from 120 model (120 stiffness).

I am not saying 100 can replace or same as the 120 and obviously they have different plastic stiffness for 100/120/130 but I was just saying 100 can be “as close to” stiffer model for 145lbs person. I have both 100 and 120 tongue, green/blue/red/yellow spring that I played with on my 100. OP was worried that some boots maybe too stiff or too soft for certain situation, hence, being able to play around and testing it himself is the best way to get an idea.

  4. I like my .951 (mountain slope) boots, particularly 100 range for your weight, height and being non racer. It can be as stiff as 120 by using stiffer spring with stiffer tongue or as soft as RC8 with softer spring and tongue. Changing spring and tongue takes matter of minutes. The best in the business.

I also have intuition liner with custom footbed to custom fit to my feet and this is my 4th season wearing it. I have never been happier.

  5. I have Oxess 170 XXR for sale. Specs are the following:

Oxess XXR / 170cm / 20cm waist / 11.5m SCR - it was ordered by Shred Grummer. As you can see from photo that it is in great condition (almost new - this board is $1700 new). Before I bought it Shred told me he only rode it 2x and I only rode it handful of times. My loss is your gain. I love the board but I have other board I want to ride.....

$OLD (Local pickup in CO is possible)

That is not bad price (I would not say “cheap” though) but that is for BP2-10. Proto+ which is top of their line is $1k more. I am curious what is the difference between them. They don’t say exactly how they are different on their catalog but they both say they are titan all board with sandwich construction. Gray Snowboard catalog has complete explanation on difference such as Tycoon vs. Tycoon Type S on their catalog.

Winter has entered Montana early.  We had over a foot of snow in Billings last weekend, and 9+ inches yesterday.  We are still over a month until lifts start turning...

That’s nice to hear! We need some of those in CO.
I saw that ski area in Banff Canada opened and looks like it is full blown winter weather. It seems like La Niña will blow good snow in northern USA to Canadian Rockies.

  9. Glad you and your family are ok! That must have been scary.

I highly recommend 4Runner (I have been riding it on and off since mid 80’s in my family), I have 2013 and it is going strong with 200k miles. I never had any issues besides usual maintenance. I am planning to ride it until it dies.... hopefully in 10years.... then buy another one LOL

There really is not any green carving runs at Turner.  I have heard some folks say that after the MCC their home mountains were much more tame.  So between Turner terrain, wide open runs, no one hitting you from behind and our outstanding instructors for the clinics, it is an excellent an excellent opportunity to push your riding to the next level.

I hope it is like runs under the Superbee-chair at Copper Mt (steep, super packed groomer and fairly wide) without worrying about torpedo-skier-lindseyvonn-wannabe.

I am looking forward to meet with new people and enjoy nice runs! Thanks for hosting!!!
