  2. Somehow, I ordered two of these and considering I'm not a skier, I can only use one. $170 and Shipping (Just what I paid).
  3. I'm here in Duluth for the gazillionth day this year. Once again the topic of conversation this morning has been Daylight Savings Time, and how everyone hates that loss of the hour in the evening (well actually this time of the year it's that extra hour in purgatory). Everyone that I've spoken with has commented that they have a great deal of despondency associated with it. Now who am I to argue with the powers that be, that have taken care of our future: Social Security, National Debt, Oil, Disaster Preparedness, Corporate Greed, and of course War for only the most noble causes. Those in power have, in all their infinite wisdom declared that we have to wait for that extra hour until (category 7 the end of the world(The Republicans win 2008), well, whenever. I have a better solution. Let's just lose 2 O'clock! It's that hour that's really quite worthless. Still too much time to panic about leaving and getting all the work that's piled up, and yet thinking the day is never going to end, and yes there is still time for one more bag of chips that will erode the flow of blood through your arteries. Think about it. Kids wouldn't have to go to school any earlier, and everybody would gain that extra hour at night. No more going to and from school and work in the dark. It would be one hour shorter to quitting and I'm sure that everyone would make up for that hour by working harder for the 7 that remain. Employee's health would improve, decreasing sick days. An easy solution that the finest minds in our Legislatures have not been able to come up with. Throw the Bums out and get someone a little smarter in. Subliminable thought isn't it? (All Ski Resorts would be required to stay open an hour later)
  4. 160 with 20cm width. Board too wide for my boots. Almost brand new. Perfect top and just a couple of small lines in the bottom. Base has never been ground. $175.
  5. Will do. I believe it's going to be the week of the 24th of Feb. Will have a good sized crew going down. Mostly skiers and my Kid (36). 3 of us are pretty much down for just about anything. The others, I'm not sure of. Anything fun and steep. Will do another thread just before we go. Any suggestions on off piste stuff and which areas are the best. So far from what I've heard Snowbird is the best, but I haven't been there as of yet. We'll be staying in Sandy or Union I think. Suggestions on that would be appreciated also. Thanks Fischer
  6. I had the Fish, and after reading all of the above, the only intelligent thing to do is buy the O'sin, so that's what I did. I figure my own style, which tends to be sharp quick turns wherever I am, is going to dictate the board I will like best, but you never know. Thanks to all for the various takes on the different boards, but for not much money, I can afford to try to O'sin, so I'll give all your styles a shot. Utah in late Feb.
  7. You might also want one of these in order to go covert. Nothing like good camouflage to ensure the success of your mission, and say that as long as you have to smell smoke you'll continue on your new diet. http://www.zymetrical.com/product.asp?3=29&dc=301x44fs
  8. Fart Spray http://www.zymetrical.com/product.asp?3=29&dc=301x44fs
  9. Air deodorizer. Fair play is to spray Lysol all over the offending area. If the smoke is not supposed to bother you, why would Lysol (a perfectly good disinfectant) bother anyone that smokes. If they're in the adjoining cubicle, simply spray it up in the air and where it lands is not your concern, much the same as the the stench on the smokers is landing on your area. Aside from that, it might not be a bad way to help control the flu virus. Tip: Find the aerosol that most offends the smoker, and then maybe they'll get the hint.
  10. So it kind of started off with some railing about the po-lice, and haven't better things to do. So they need to be there, and if they weren't the drunks would be out there even more than they are now. So if they see a speeder, chances are the guys one of three things: A. Drunk, B. An idiot that doesn't think rules should apply to them, or C. Someone who's not paying attention to what's happening around them. Any of these 3 are dangerous, and anyone of these three out to be ticketed, or at the very least B & C out to be given a warning. But if they're not stopped, what's to happen? Stats have said 80% of all drivers think they're excellent. The observable tells quite a different story. _
  11. Anybody here have a friend or relative splatted by a speeder or a drunk? Noting the proclivities of the general population to do whatever they want if they're not going to get caught, I vote for Traffic enforcement. Let's see-28 years since the last speeding ticket. Pulled over once for no front license plate, and once for obstructed rear plate. Sounds pretty fair for not getting killed on the roads. Look at how many of us have been cut down from behind by speeding skiers, and then multiply that by the times we're on the road and add another 3000 pounds for a SUV smacking into us. My Grandfather got caught speeding (this would be years ago), for 60 in a 30. The judge asked him why and he said his reflexes were twice as fast as the normal man. The judge said: "So is your fine!"
  12. 2 runs on it. Too wide for my Size 9's. Pretty much perfect. Covered the top before I mounted plates. $200 shipped to US. Fischer
  13. Looking for a 168. Around Seattle would be great. I have a Burton 160 Speed or a F2 Speedster for a possible trade, or will pay cash.
  14. Limit this to you guys that have actually ridden one of these things. Thoughts, recommendations, shortcomings. I'm weighing in at 150, and does a 168 make the most sense. Mostly backcountry and powder riding use for this board. I already have a Burton Fish that I haven't used yet. Thanks.
  15. Doesn't this have the potential of crossing the line?
  16. Thanks for the update on the year. Overall a pretty cool graphic, I think.
  17. I don't really know the year, maybe somebody knows what year the Route 66 Graphic was on the Speedster. I figure about another $10 US for shipping to Canada, if it's more I'll pay the difference.
  18. Started snowboarding at 45 (1995). Just wasn't having that much fun skiing anymore. It probably helped in the transition that I'm pidgeon toed and only an OK skier. Did my homework on Snowboards, looked at the injury rates and bought 3 strap bindings (Burton Torques), to give me more support. Progressed rather rapidly after the 1st couple of days. After every two runs, I'd readjust the bindings to see what felt better. I came to an early decision that I wasn't going into the terrain park or very seldomly ride fakey. After about 5 days out I arrived at pretty much the angles that I'm riding now, 66 and 45. After having figured out how to ride, I then chose where I wanted to ride, and it turned out that I was having way more fun trying to master the bumps. Then it was the steeps and bumps, and now it's anyplace that has steeps and bumps and is pretty difficult, or just plain fun. Well the only problem with all this was when I'd hit the troughs hard on the bottom of the bumps, and started hyper-extending my ankles, I knew I needed to remedy the situation. Then I went to the Ski and Snowboard Expo in Seattle and saw a lonely Burton Alp with plates on it. It was so cheap after my first Snowboard, I figured what the heck I'd try it. So there was also a pair of Raichle 123's there and it was done. So first day out on the slopes and it was slammin' through the bumps. Unbelievable control and a firm edge set, and I was sold. Since then I'v added to the quiver and settled on a bunch of boards for different applications. I only carve when I'm in Duluth Mn, cause they groom out the bumps and there ain't no steeps. I have my carving set up there, and back in Washington I have my Powder and Bump and Spring Boards. Haven't looked back, except in disgust, at my skiing.
  19. It's a 166 with a 20cm waist and a 9.8 radius
  20. Excellent condition, top and bottom. Only used a couple of days. I couldn't get the board to bend with my weight, 150lbs, and small boot size. Dark blue and black. $220 shipped.
  21. F2 Speedster. Top sheet in good shape, bottom in excellent shape. Silver Gray with Route 66 emblem on it. A pair of Proflex plates mounted. $270 with bindings and shipping included. I have pictures. Turns out the board is a little much for my weight, 150lbs.
  22. I'm not interested in the hoodie, but is the fish male or female? I'd only be interested if the fish is female.
  23. Week of March 17th this year, well I mean this boarding year. You oughta try surfing. It's very wet, much like a really bad day in Cascade Concrete, and even squishier.
  24. Forget the Board, how much for the fish. Fischer
  25. Sounds good. We have seasons passes to Snowqualamie and depending on where I am, we try to get up there as often as possible. Our time is filling rapidly because I spend time with the woman in Minnesota during Christmas, Thanksgiving and a couple more visits after the first of the year. We are also scheduling a Utah trip with about 8 guys from the Twin Cities area on Feb 24, if somebody was interested. March in Whistler is also scheduled. Didn't I get onto your website and see some surfing pics? Fischer
