  1. I would agree with that. Most things have a life expancy built into them and I would say thats pretty fair for the "average" consumer grade board. Mabey a urban myth, but I would say pretty close
  2. isn't there a synopsis of the pureboading style somewhere. Carvers almanac has alot on EC, but not on 'pureboarding'. All this EC stuff is exhausting.
  3. sorry I missed that you had one of these boards! Where do they say 20deg? I though it was closer to 35sh rear and 55 front but what do I know.
  4. super wide boards. 22.7cm -24.5cm wide I tried it for fun on my oxygen bx .. pretty comfy ride
  5. Ive been using locktit for years no problem..... Fin ? Fin? What do you say here on what should be done? I cant get into greasing a bolt... but then, my mechanic lightly greases the bolts on my tires before installing them. (waterproof grease) ... they have never come of in all the years I have been going to him.
  6. Isnt that when they inject you with sugar water? reminds me of when seinfeld dropped the jr mint in someone and they had a miracle healing. None the less, I had a tick in one of my knees years ago and the dr did inject some solution into my knee and 3 weeks later it was not clicking as much, 6 months later no clicking. I do belive it was the same concept, but not sugar water. So it does work for some problems.
  7. thanks.. Im just the greatest at searching the system sometimes.
  8. Is there (or does anyone have) the weight ranges the number coiler uses to determine the weight range of the boards? such as 6.5 - 160-170 lbs 7.5 - 165 -185 lbs etc Im just asking as used coilers seem to show up every now and then and the flexes see to be a mystery me... Might be nice for the alminac..
  9. it depends on your age how fast you heal. ... young - fast .... old - slow... blah blah blah youll be fine...(I had my ACL done in 2002)
  10. Not mine, but thought someone here would might like this. http://cgi.ebay.com/USED-COILER-PURE-RACE-178-CM-SNOWBOARD-w-BINDINGS_W0QQitemZ130049464320QQihZ003QQcategoryZ36297QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item130049464320
  11. my flows the heels lift as well. I put ducts tape on the heels of the boot and this eleminated some of the problems. It is a design issue, but then im not getting crazy on the flows.
  12. I have the flip-u... I use it on my screw around soft set up. Works well.. I would not go crazy with it though
  13. How does the RockGarden Fit? Nice... I was looking at them
  14. I know it been gone over a hundered times. I went through the archives.. But at a minimal (besides helmet and wrist guards)what do you think is appopriate for everyday freecarving? Back guard, chest, butt, ankles, knees ? Just taking a informal poll.
  15. I dont think people know left from right at the speed that anyone rides here. I think it just easier to say 'passing you' ... RFL Most will stay on their line (more or less)
  16. I dont sharpen my edges ever day. But a nice edge does help when you hit a sheet of blue... Im not kidding when I say we have sheets of pure solid ice, its rock hard, like black ice on the road.... I just make sure Im sharp, and let it go. My boards last long enough there is a lot of metal there. Its funny... The mountains here will never report the condition as "Icy" they just say "mixed terrain" you kinda know its going to be a bad day.
  17. I just have to say... parents stick with your kids..... I know its hard.. I watched a little girl get wacked by a snowboarder.. No parents anywhere, I ran up and made shure she was ok.. about 10 min later parents show up. Girl was scared mostly... (screamming "I wanna go potty" by the time the parents show up)... im Just venting...
  18. hahahahah Rule #1 when you are carving during busy times.... Stay AT LEAST 15 Feet from the edge of the trail.. I 100% promise you will have someone try to pass you at the edge and hit you...
  19. IceCoast... Im in the land called " Iceland" The ice we get here is from the whole mountain going into the mid 40's during the day. Then refreezing... Then they blow 2 inches of crap snow on top at night ... dust on ICE... basically...you fall, your sore. Its actually BLUE/green sometimes when you move the dust off it. We go out west because a crappy west coast day is a PERFECT lower east coast day... Are east coast riders better? Naw.. mabey just mabey a little better at ice and poor conditions and a little more happy to sharpen our edges.
  20. Can someone post some pics of the topsheets of the coilers such as blue flames, red flames, white/red ellipse, tribal etc
