  1. The latest from our friend Roger at the St Moritz, dated 11/19/04: "I erred in the rate for the standard lodge rooms. It is $136 for the room, single or double occupancy, not per person (plus a contribution to Colorado and the city of Aspen totalling 9.6%). I've got eight rooms still available."
  2. You are correct Greg. The "day off" is named so because there are no official Bomber events on that day. However, your ticket is only good for 6 days, so if you use it on Wed you will be short a day.
  3. Also, I am working on hiring some vans (private) to take people from DIA to Aspen on Feb 12th. I will keep you informed.
  4. Shipping Boards to Bomber : Since this is an out of town event for us as well, please contact your lodging person and inquire about sending boards directly to them. We are going to have a lot of items to carry over, and the vehicles will be very full. If you get in a tight bind, and are desperate, then contact me and I will see what I can do for you. Accomodations in Summit: If you are coming early or staying late for an Extended SES, check out the accomodations list here . Prices are from last year, so you will have to contact the individual business for current rates. Fireside Inn in Brek is a B&B that is a bit out of the way (it's in Breck, about 1/2 hour drive from Copper, Keystone, and A-Basin. About 1 hour drive from Vail/Beaver Creek). Check out the SnowShoe Motel in Frisco (more centrally located) for cheaper accomodations with kitchenettes, or share a condo for even more savings with all ammenities. There are a few condos in Wildernest (in Silverthorne, also more centrally located) that are inexpensive, do a Google Search for Wildernest Condos Colorado and you will find plenty. Let me know if you still need help. Michelle Accomodations in Aspen: This is a copy of an email I got today. 3 Cheers for Roger, looks like he has come to the rescue! "I've read some of the postings on your website re: cost of lodging. Well, good news: from now until December 1, the St. Moritz Lodge is offering our value season rates for SES attendees. Hostel beds are $41.00pp, and lodge rooms are $136.00pp. Reservations only for arriving February 12 (can do one or two on 02/13) with a six-night minimum-stay requirement. Must book directly with the lodge. Whining about high cost of Aspen is prohibited. Please post or forward this message where appropriate. Roger Haneman manager St. Moritz Lodge & Condominiums Aspen, Colorado" St Moritz

  6. Hello Alex Let's look at the results of our emails: Your order came to us on 09/27/04. 09/27 - I emailed you to say we are out of that boot. 09/27 - you emailed to me to add to your order. 09/28 - I emailed to you to again say we are out of the boot, when we expected delivery, and gave you options for a different boot. I also acknowledged the additions to your order. 10/06- I emailed to you again, because I had no response from the other emails, and also sent an email to the "recipient" in the US 10/16- you emailed to me to asking where your order was. 10/18 - I emailed to you again to say the boots are out of stock, and when we expected them to be shipped. I also notified you that your credit card was not charged. This was the last contact I have had with you. Have you sent me other emails that I have not received? If so, I apologize if I have not responded to them. However, these are the only emails I have received from you and have responded to each one. When you place an order on BOL, your card is NOT CHARGED until we ship the product. So your credit card has not been charged, if you would check your credit card statement. Please email me (in the subject line please put TO MICHELLE) directly in order to get this straightened out. I will and have responded every time. Would you like me to send you copies of the emails I have sent to you? We really go out of our way to have customer satisfaction. I do everything I can to work with our customers and have them leave Bomber happy. Michelle Bomber Industries
  7. Not true. The only reason you would ever have a top sheet with damage is because you don't keep your bolts tight, and the disk has a chance to roll around on the board. If you tighten the bolts after a day of riding, it should be fine. This was a big rumor going around a few years ago, and got way out of control.
  8. No plans for ski plane this winter to Aspen from DIA By Naomi Havlen October 20, 2004 A flight from Denver to Aspen that in the past has worked for a quick ski trip won't be running again this winter, in part because the airlines have learned to schedule planes to better serve out-of-state visitors. The Aspen Ski Plane was a hit during the winter of 2001-2002, when it offered a round-trip flight between Denver and Aspen and a lift ticket for $99 plus tax. It was less popular the following season when it was offered only on weekdays. The reason for the plane's demise this year and last is simply because of a new, more convenient schedule United is offering to Aspen that benefits flights connecting to Aspen from out of state, but leaves no room for a ski plane from Denver. What made the ski plane work for United Express was the fact that it had an empty plane running between Denver and Aspen early every morning. "The first flight is now timed to make inbound connections from many of our top markets - Dallas, Chicago and Washington, D.C., to name a few," said Bill Tomcich, president of Stay Aspen Snowmass, the town's central reservation agency. "It's no longer an empty repositioning flight." The ski plane didn't operate last winter - Tomcich said if it had, it would have had a very frustrating schedule. "We counted maybe eight days in February and seven day sin March when flights were available in both directions to create a day trip up to Aspen," he said. "So instead of frustrating guests with never being available, why launch the program in the first place?" The good news, however, is that flights are filling up throughout the holidays, and the connections make it easier for out-of-state guests to come quickly from Denver to Aspen after first arriving in Colorado. "United has a much better schedule," Tomcich said, especially considering that guests from elsewhere in the country and the world spend their money on lodging and dining in Aspen, compared to day-trippers who ski, eat lunch and leave as it's getting dark.
  9. Personally, I wouldn't want to keep the ring unless he was a total idiot and cheated on me, or tried to kill me or something. Then I'd be taking a lot more than the ring ;) I would probably give it back if the wedding was called off, but I don't feel as if it should be EXPECTED to be given back (is that correct English?). If it's a gift, you give it to the person because you want them to have it, not with conditions on it. Is it the same for Christmas or Birthday presents? Where do you draw the line?
  10. That's BS. The ring is a gift, no matter who gives it to whom. Would you feel the same if the girl gave you a car? or Watch? It's a gift, the receiver gets to keep it. The contract is binding when you sign the marriage certificate.
  11. My Bavarian friend just got engaged, and I had to coach him on the whole engagement ring procedure. He had never heard of this! The biggest thing is that he is marrying a Southern girl, and they are all about showing it off (I am also Southern, so I have LOTS of room to talk! - no recourse please!). I told him the 2 things she will be asked is 1. How did he propose? 2. Let me see the ring! As I said, every woman is different and I am proof. A Cajun girl who couldn't care less about jewlery and materialistic foofy stuff. I agree with D-Sub, the symbolism of the ring is priceless (as well as the question - asking someone to spend the rest of their life with you is HUGE), but I could never wear a huge thing on my hand. It puts a damper on wearing gloves (snowboarding, biking, weight lifting, dog sledding, etc......). Some things have to be sacrificed, and I would be happy to have it be the rings!
  12. Congratulations! You boys have succesfully brought up a subject totally unrelated to snowboarding, and somehow surround it by snowboarding and cars.... I guess women love men because we are so different. As a female reading all of this talk, I have to say that all women/men are different and that's what makes the world go round. I personally feel that an engagement ring is a Traditional Symbol of a commitment the man gives the women to say he is married to her, and now they will spend this time planning their big celebration. Whether you agree with this or have it as part of your life is up to you, but traditionally that is what it means. I would much rather have a house or a dependable car than a ring on my finger, but that's just me, I don't feel as though I am very materiialistic. However, the ring is a GIFT from one person to another, and just as accepting any gift you must respect the giver and their decision to buy it, and give it to you. If you know this person well enough to accept their gift, they should know you well enough to buy you a gift you will like, use, and appreciate. It's all about the commitment in your heart, and you can have a ring, car, house, even marriage but if you don't have that you have nothing. I know lots of people who aren't married, but are committed to each other for many years, and people who are married for a few months and cheat, lie, just being asses. We all know what money and material things do to people, just look at any of our Hollywood's finest. So as a female, it's nice to be surprised by the ring, and even more surprised by the "question", but any gift would suffice (your love and commitment can be here instead of something you physically buy) here as long as it is from the heart, and you mean it.
  13. You have to be there because they take your photo - it's just like a season pass but only good for a few days. Sorry
  14. I just talked to Resort Express and they do charters from Denver to Aspen. If anyone is interested, it would be $82 one way, and we would have to pick a time that works for everyone. We could do a couple of vans, but this rate is based on 10 people/van. Otherwise, you can go online and get a deal for $79 from DIA to Hwy 82 and Brush Creek Rd which is Snowmass. You can then get a taxi or friend to bring you the rest of the way in to town. You can also book a door to door shuttle DIA to Aspen for $104. If you are interested in this, please email me and I will keep a running list of people. In January I can let everyone know what is going on with the transportation, maybe sooner if this gets a big response.
  15. I agree, red is better than the orange. I am not a fan of orange or lime green, which will probably be next year's color.
  16. The only human friends are the ones I pay, except for Bob :D
  17. Actually no I'm not. My apartment is a bit too small for me, three dogs, and anyone else. My dogs are my best friends as well, and I go no where without them either. And I am usually dog sitting for someone, so at any given time I can have 4 in the one BD apartment I live in. But it's in a great location. Didn't you ask about that in another post? Or I am confusing you with someone else?
  18. Yes, Vail is closer to Aspen than Denver. Basically, it is the same route you are just cutting about 2 hours off of the drive. So from Vail to Aspen it is about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. You also fly in on the west side of Vail pass, so if it is closed you have no problem still getting to Aspen (as long as the airport in Eagle/Vail is open). I don't know about shuttles from Vail to Aspen. You can try this web site. http://www.coloradomountainexpress.com/ MJ
  19. Thanks, much appreciated. btw, if you like dogs, you are welcome to be my roommate!
  20. Ah, yes. They use the same mold for those two, just different plastic to make the Indy stiffer. Same straps, same cuffs, etc.
  21. Apology accepted! It's really not a big deal as we get this all the time, but thanks so much for the post! YES, everyone needs to listen to the Bomber folks! ;) We get this all the time where peole are convinced they are size X because they have converted their street shoe size and not bothered to read the sizing instructions. (and I am not implying that you did this at all, this is all for the general public) Your street shoes are meant to be comfortable and fun, they are not a performance shoe by any means! Also, the Mondo sizing is precise - it is the length of your foot in centimeters. It does not run big or small, it is the length of your foot in centimeters! That's all, no questions. You may wear size 8 in Nike, and size 10 in Addidas, but you will always wear the same Mondo size. So anyone reading this please read and follow the sizing instructions on the web site. We have fit many many boots here in the office with 99.9% accuracy with this system. If you deviate from the instructions, you run the risk of not getting the right size and having to do the exchange. This causes a loss of time and money for everyone, and you also take the chance that we will not have the size you need when you email me to exchange. We can get it right the first time, and alleviate all the troubles. Consider your conscience free and clear! Michelle
  22. The lower straps we have alternate sizes for, but not the top straps.. And I only have the option to order one size from Deeluxe. I'm not sure what this means.
  23. Hi Ben Since this is a question to be answered to just you, can you please email me the same info and I will answer you? Thanks! Michelle
  24. The buckles are screwed on, so you can put whatever buckles you want on there. However, you can only go so far as you have already found out. The plastic from the boots will overlap and cause other problems. I don't think your problem is the buckles, I think it's the length of the straps that go in to the buckles. However, I don't have any shorter ones - they only come in one size. Maybe another pair of boots (like softies) have different straps that you can swap out?
  25. Susuka does not come standard with Intec heel, thanks for pointing that out. I will have to change the photo. They do come standard with Thermo Flex liners. As far as we have been told, there are no design changes to this year's boots (any models, even Head). Everything is staying the same except for colors. Do you think the red is uglier than the orange Indy from last year?????
