Loveland (but don't tell anyone I said so). Like DT says, it can get brutally cold (but you're having too much fun to know it) but at least it's WINDY.
Been doing it early Dec. (before the prices go up at resort & airlines) for the past 2 years and will probably do it again this year !
When I find a good thing, I stick with it. Just riding with LCI makes it worthwhile. Stay away from the Snowman, he'll have you trying to take down trees :D........

west carven,
"will it fit any camera? should be a standard size mount yes/no?"
I think most cameras have a 1/4-20 female thread in base for mounting, the GoPro has two tabs (brackets) incorporated into the case for their mounts.
If you feel you want to adapt/modify, or can make it work, I'll split the shipping to you.

mattj, Thanks. I rode with someone that had APPs for the whole USA (even Blue Mtn. Pa). I didn't pay much attention because I still had a Rotary Cell at the time.
Seemed like a really neat APP though, so figured I would ask here. Enjoy you summer -- jp1
** Does anyone use Phresheez ?

Just curious as to what (Ski Area/Trail Map/GPS) APP's people are happy with on an Android cell phone.

Great News Indeed . Lets pray for conditions & accommodations like 2009. Excited to see the same Team of Organizers, as they did a fantastic job in '09 :). Thanks Again - jp1

I'm looking for any feedback on Virgin Mobile as a phone service provider. My 7 year old 'rotary' cell has seen its last day :(. I've had good luck with Verizon, but VM prices are real tempting.
I may even try a Smartphone, can dummies use smartphones?

Very sickening what people will do

"Backcountry opportunities are abundant but wet slab avalanche danger is extremely high. "
Mark, We get that all the time in Trannsylvania (specially @ the end of May) you get use to it after a while .
Enjoy :)

Looking for Straps and Buckles in good condition mainly.
If you have an old pair of boots that are headed for the promised land or broken shells with the parts on them, before you discard them, please PM me.
I'm working on size 27.5, but I think I'd be able to use any sizes close, any color.
Or if you know where I can purchase these parts new, or something interchangeable please let me know.
Thanks -- jp1

carvedog, I hope that don't happen, because the way things are in this country now, the thief would probably then sue utahcarver (specially IF it is a fixie) and end up owning his his house also.
Good Luck getting your ride back, I like dk's approach.

One thing I learned this season was that Bombers Steel Step-In Receivers in addition to being 'Silky Smooth', have less issue staying engaging properly.
At the end of the season I got out the 'Rock Board' that had aluminum receivers on it and had a constant problem with back heel not locking in.
I'm sure the snow conditions also attributed to the problem, but it was getting scary. The engaged pins are definitely easier to see on the Steel Receivers.
Come on Fin, whip up another batch of Bomber Steel Receivers to fit the Cateks, Please :)...............

Jonesin from Alpine withdraw I guess, but had to ask.
Are there any plans being made for ECES 2012?
ECES 2010, will be hard to top. The organizers did an excellent job , Stratton seemed happy :) to have us & the conditions :D were Awesome.

shawndoggy, I use T-Nuts on the inside with a Stainless Steel Button Head screwed into the T-Nut & polished, gives it a 'finished' look.
T-Nut (Lowes #137348) 5/16-18 X 5/8" with Stainless Steel 'Button Head' Allen screws (bolts).
Fastenall, McMaster Carr, Grainger or whatever Industrial Supply, or if you have a good Hardware Store locally you'll be in business

shawndoggy, I was just re-visiting some old threads (the wheels are turning) and was curious, did you ever drill out the rivets?
I had good results sanding the 2nd and 3rd straps where they touched when fully flexed (my buckles did not actually touch, the straps did) to allow for clearance.
What is your feeling on the modified boots as compared to stock?
jp1
-
My opinion, There simply is NO comparison!
I rode my Head Stratos (stock out of the box) for 2 years and really liked them.
Then I did the 'full tilt mods' with BTS, now absolutely love them!
Just had Dalbello Golds molded in them last weekend (I hope they are 1/2 as good as people say) Really Looking Forward to next season !!
JMO: Do yourself a favor and DO the boot Mods ! There's a ton of information here on how to do them.
