  1. Thanks Hans, one of favorite vids they make it look so easy!
  2. WOW! Another 18 inches overnight (25 in past 48 hrs), up to 59 inch base, incredible. Should be groomed in by Friday when I take day off. Doug and Dog, meet up for first tracks on Friday morning? Maybe also Saturday morning? Aspen getting a little - 6 inches at Buttermilk (7 in last 48 hrs and 10 in last 7 days) - keep it coming for SES!
  3. Was up in Powderhorn yesterday and rode up with an interested snowboarder and after explaining to him what an alpine board does, he followed me down and said "I didn't know this existed".
  4. Another 7 inches fell (must have missed an inch yesterday 11 inches in last 48) and more to come. Should make for some great carving later in the week once groomed in and it cools down.
  5. 2 inches fell overnight (3 in kst 48) provided some decent carving in the early am. After 1130 startied getting warm and a little slushy. More snow and cooler weather on the way. Hope aspen gets its share for upcoming SES.
  6. How come when you try to play this video it says it is private? This was one of my favorites to watch and learn from and can't watch in anymore.
  7. Dag, Doug, and I did some early tracks this morning below the lift. We also met up with another three carvers - Mike from Paonia, Dr. Scott (GJ), Jimmy (GJ), and Sharon (snowboarding soon to be carver). Awesome day on Bills, Maverick, and Peacemaker (below the lift). A record 6 carvers on Powderhorn today!
  8. saint moritz in aspen is your cheapest bet at 199 or 225 per night depending on whether you want a kitchenette or not? Looks like others are also at snowmass at the snowmass inn. Nice thing about moritz is you are 5 blocks from center of town?
  9. Dang! Stuck in Denver/Boulder will watch Bronco game in a cozy house! Powderhorn got 6 inches past 48 so the groom should be good! I hope Dog and Doug get some good runs in the cold. Looks like the aspen area also got some (7 in 48). Keep it coming for SES!
  10. Michelle, for those of us that are coming in from GJ (Dag, Doug, and I/wife), we already have our classic passes and booked hotel. I am only staying through Wedneday. We can pay for demos on a daily basis, pay for drink/raffle tickets at Bumps and pay at the door for PureCarving, etc. right?
  11. Glad to see on the site Dog! Maybe we can get Doug to chime in as well! Will have to take the next week and half off from carving since I have to take my daughters back to college this weekend.
  12. I vote for start printing the shirts with this edit. If not for SES, maybe for a general Bomber carving shirt. Long sleeve option would also be cool.
  13. Or make it a hang loose or Shaka edit!
  14. Yes, I think he has actually pointing with the thumb up but it does look like the bird. Probably needs to be cropped out if a t shirt is ever made of it.
  15. Was able to get away to Powderhorn yesterday for the afternoon and still had great carving conditions. Doug had some nice remaining trenches below the lift from his morning session. Dog texted me about his afternoon today and said his new Prior FLC was PHENOMENAL(he finally got rid of that delaminated Burton he had for 10 years).
  16. Powderhorn was great carving today on Bills and Peacemaker. Dog (aka Dag) I know will be carving it up tomorrow on his new Prior FLC 177 he just bought from Bomber. Powderhorn still has one of the best bases in the state and good groom today.
  17. Sorry to miss you and Angie, Jim! Ended up going to Highlands on Friday and Buttermilk on Saturday (-14 degrees at 9 am but some of the tie hack runs we're well groomed) and didnt check my emails. Rode with a bunch of skier friends. Will be going to Powderhorn on new years eve day if you and Ang ever want to try a smaller hill. Hopefully Doug Miller will be getting the day off so he and I can ride together otherwise I may be solo.
  18. Another 8 inches fell last night and up to 45 inch base almost best in the state. We're drowning in it and they can't groom it in fast enough. Yesterday I rode with a fellow carver I met (Carl fron New Mexico) and saw another I didn't recognize. It used to be only three hardbooters on this hill now its up to five or six. Am going to have to take a break from Powderhorn tomorrow and go to snowmass to try Big burn and elk camp areas ( got to start using the classic pass and save some for the upcoming SES).
  19. Snow report at Powderhorn this morning is 14 inches of new snow in past 24 hours and 16 inches in past 48. Should be great carving in a couple days after they groom it in. Couldn't ask for a better Christmas present! Merry Christmas!
  20. Yesterday was great with the best runs on well groomed peacemaker. Bills run had a lot of small rocks (may have to petex tonight) due to over grooming. Bottom of Maverick was not bad had good snow cover. The three of us were turning heads below the lift on peacemaker and had a few follow us down asking about the sport. Forecast is 6 to 12 inches the next two days to hopefully cover Bill's run.
  21. Doug, Dag, and I will be meeting for first tracks at midway tomorrow. Today was great with 13 inches of new snow the past 72 hours and a 32 inch base. Bills run and Peacemaker were well groomed and maybe they will groom wonderbump tomorrow. Saw one other carver today while going up the lift so if you read this thread meet us at the lift at 9. Doug is starting to look like that slow motion carver. On the video thread.
  22. I turn 56 in 11 days and have over 20 years of carving left? Keep these pics coming!
  23. Doug Miller and I spent the day at Snowmass and Sneakys was incredible. Doug was doing some extreme carving and I was tryIng out my Coiler VSR 177. Awesome day considering the lack of snow this year!
  24. I agree that both the 2010 and 2011 SES shirts were great designs (I bought both the past couple of years), but wearing a new 2013 SES shirt with Fin's silhouette w/Get on Board would be legendary. Awesome Pics!
