I switched from intec to standard TD2's this season to experiment with the flex. I love them and have found no difficulty getting in or out. The ride is noticeably different. That is one reason I find it interesting that some people ride mixed intec/standard, it just seems that it would feel odd.

Is your lesson with an instructor at Rose or a private party? I am always telling people what's available so this would be real good to know.
Scott be sure to post when you will be there. There is a whole crew that rides Rose.

Equipment is hard to find. The biggest shopping selection is online. Here in Reno, NV there is one store with one type of alpine board, boot and binding.

You should definitely go to Mt Rose while you're there. There is usually a pack of carvers. It's a great mountain for carving. Post at www.tahoecarvers.com to hook up with others.

Alaska isn't new in the movies. For quite a few years now Standard Films has has had an awful lot of first descents and big mountain riding in their films.

I'm interested in this too. I just got some new boots and TD2's. I want to play around with standard (influenced by Extremecarve of coarse :D ) and don't want to mark up my pretty boots.

I'm just sitting here waiting and wailing, mostly wailing. I am not very good at waiting. We have also been having and inversion and the temps up top are warmer than they are down here in Reno, not conducive to snow making.
