  1. SGproteam.com - The only international "Pro Team" left in the alpine snowboard circus. This was in the External links section... was that intentional or did you mean circuit?
  2. I've searched and can't find the thread but, I know there was a discussion about the use of AT boots and I think there are some people that post here that use them for the reasons you mentioned. Hopefully they can shed some light on it for you. Maybe your search skills are better than mine.:o
  3. Prime recieved today. Excellent condition, very happy. Thanks a bunch. Now for the snow....
  4. Hit up tdifan 2003. He's got a couple sets for cheap.
  5. I do a full body circuit. NOTE: diet is 70% of training. Eating right helps a lot and you feel better to boot. --2-3 days at least one day of rest between workouts. bw squats(slow decent, explosive up) pushups bw lunges(slow decent, explosive up) chinups shoulder press pushups dips reverse crunch(or some sort of core excercise like planks, hanging knee raises) -- Do this three times 10-15 minutes eliptical Other than that I stack fire wood, play with my four kids and I walk a lot at work. Important thing is not to forget your core. It will support your upperbody and aid in rotation and gelp balance while carving. For anyone who doesn't like to strength train the old fashioned way. I've had great results with Pilates in the past. It's a great alternative to weight/bodywieight training. @benttech: I have a weak back as well. If I start to have any back pain at all I start a regemine of bent over barbell rows, pretty heavy, 2-3 sets of 8-10 reps. Always helps. If I had to pick only one excercise to do for the rest of my life... SQUATS!
  6. Ended up getting the Ultra Prime 162. Should be fun. Found a set of Burton Carrier Step-ins. Super excited for snow... Full setup(board, boots, bindings) ~$200. Very happy... I'm sure it only gets more expensive from here. Watched all of Sean's videos on youtube and I've got my heart set on a Donek Blade for next year. Better start saving now. Thanks to all on BOL for the advice and direction. This is one of the best forums I've ever been on. A real great community and I'm proud to be a part of it. Keep it up everyone!
  7. Thanks for the Prime. Can't wait to get it on the snow.
  8. Awesome! I love the first pic. Cute kids. I've got 4 of my own. I'll post up as soon as my new(new to me) gear gets here.
  9. Bought this new as a hold-over in '02. Board is in great shape, a couple scuffs and whatnot but it's got a lot of life left in it. It's quite stiff, holds an edge well. I get out 1-2 times a season in the last 8 years so it hasn't seen a ton of use. Drake bindings. I'm 6'1, 150lbs and it's a tad stiff for me but I like the way it rides. I'll get some pics together. Board is in great shape, a couple scuffs and whatnot but it's got a lot of life left in it. I'll PM the pics and we'll see what you guys think. Edit: The price will be far under the budget you mentioned.
  10. What is an M8 bolt and are they hard to replace? Will these work well with Burton Wind Boots(27.5 MP)? Also, with they accomidate 3D pattern or are they 4x4 only? Thanks.
  11. Cool... I'll gun for the renntiger and if that doesn't work out I'll probably grab the UP. Thanks for the great info guys. Gonna start putting aside some $$ for a Donek. Won't be 'til next season though :(. I want to support an American company but can't afford it in the near future.
  12. Thanks guys I'm really looking for a freecarve board... I've got a Ride 160 for Freeride/deep snow(not that we see much of that in ME) So I'm thinking the UP but I just found a Renntiger 168 GS that looks like it's in incredible shape... would that be like a Ferrari on a kiddy go-cart track? Also a Rossi Race VAS X 160 and it still has a good amount of camber. But the UP still looks like a winner.
  13. God bless you for taking her in. What a cutie. Not sure how a person's head gets to where they can neglect and abuse another creature. Took a look at the site. Wow, breaks the heart.
  14. Middle pic: "Squatter Cat no like you telifoto shenanigans. Is my haus now. Get aut!" (Yes I like lolcats) Be thankful it wasn't a skunk. Been there done that.
  15. Looking at a couple boards for this coming season. An Alp 169 and an Ultra Prime 162. Both are in good shape. I'm down to these two for a couple of reasons. 1.) They're in my budget and 2.) I have a soft spot for Burtons. My first board was a Burton, my first carving board was a Burton, and I've had several since then. I ride mostly smaller mountains and if I get to go more than 3-4 times this season I'll be really happy. I tend to ride moderate to aggressive and speed doesn't bother me. (At least not until the next day) What think ye?
  16. Condition on both? intended rider wt?
  17. Thas is def the superquad. Was just there 3 weeks ago.
  18. Yeah, I've got the summer to save/hunt. I'm in no hurry.
  19. OK... need to broaden my view then. I'll obviously have to ride however the conditions dictate. In Maine we don't get too many of those pesky "powder days". So I shouldn't get too hung up on specs or riding styles until I know how I like to ride? Donek Pilot? NOTE: Got my Burton Wind boots in the mail today... fit like a glove(err.. boot) and are comfortable. Yes, I wore them around the house for a while . Bob <><
  20. No "have to", I want to . Watched some vids and it looks like a blast so I'd like a setup that is able to accomidate such a style. I realize the setup is usually only as good as the person riding it but I think the right equipment helps. But, like most, I'm on a budget. The mountains I have available to me are Mt Jeffereson, Big Rock, Saddleback, or Sugarloaf(only on Maine-day). All are pretty well groomed. Forgive my ignorance. Who's Bruce? Bob <><
  21. Glad I asked. Thanks guys. Looking to go the EC route since the places I ride are pretty much groomed. What board, other than a Swoard($$$), would fit the bill for that?
  22. Been away from the scene for a few years due to moving and family and what not. My last alpine deck was a Burton 6.0 Asym when I was 16. I just scored some Burton wind boots on ebay for $37. I know they're probably not the best thing in the world but the budget it tight and the price was right. I'm looking at a Rossignol Race VAS 173. It's old enough to have the flourecent yellow bottom but it looks to be in good shape. Seller is asking $100 w/bindings. Can anyone tell me anything about this board? I'm 6'1", 160lbs, and I wear an 8.5 shoe. I ride northern Maine so it's mostly groomed ice(though this season I got to go twice and the conditions were great). I asked the sellet what he waist width was and they responded with 9.25 inches so I'd say they're not a rider. Any info on this would be great. Bob <><
