Second day on my new Coiler Contra 174 x 21, 12m filmed with my new Insta360 ONE X2 camera! Legs were a bit stiff and only 3 trails openned, hard packed and icy snow...

    This one on a Coiler ECVC 175 x22, 13.5m

Awesome video (love the insta 360 - have to get mine setup lol). Also cool color coordination 🙂

  2. Probably totally worth it.

However I went with this US made edge tune tool that is far less expensive and hopefully  just as effective (haven't used it yet just got it:)

I have one. Its a lifesaver, made the most boring part of tuning into the funnest.
I would practice on an old board to get the feel of how to use it as its easy to goof and slice off an edge section... You have to apply the right amount of pressure and maintain a constant working velocity.

I use the medium wheel for setting an edge and then use the fine for regular tune up. Ive never been able to get such beautiful polish out of an edge, now its easy. Medium is two passes max, with the fine stone two or three passes and youre done.

This and a nylon roller brush that connects to a electric drill have been the two best additions to my toolbox. You can ditch everything else, all the files, guides, brushes...

I LOVE my drill brush set! Total hand saver 🙂

Now just need an electric scraper 😂

  3. So for what it's worth here is my experience as a very athletic hardboot beginner at 44.

I play soccer all year 3-5x per week, tennis in summer 2-3x per week. And lift weights 2-4x per week. Started hardboot riding a few weeks ago.

First day on hardboots I had to rest every few minutes. Just insane quad burn. Had to stop after a few runs with crazy calf muscle and tibialis anterior muscle (next to shin bone) pain. Was totally frustrated and didn't understand why my trained legs could not handle this. Second session I noticed that I was tightening my muscles to much, and also noticed a few other things like for example that my front quad - when I distributed weight just right and pushed with my rear shin into the boot in a relaxed way - got a wonderful relaxing break on my to side carve if I just stood a little taller. Played around with that all a bit but still had to rest at least 3-4 times on just a 2 Mile  run. Then suddenly on 3rd day it all clicked - I spent 6 hours without rest (Aside from chair lift) riding - didn't have to rest on slope even once - and although tired at end of day - and definitely feeling some burn - would have done a few more runs easily but lift closed - that day I did almost 27,000 vertical feet. Soooo.... I do think my year round training has been tremendously beneficial for snowboarding - I think it's still 90% technique/body position etc to avoid burn. My 2 "excited beginner" cents 😅

Side note: for recovery I use a hypervolt percussion massage tool (have used that for years for soccer) / and that's been also very helpful whenever I get any very sore overworked spots (and helped with injury recovery as well in soccer)

    Dammm!   That's a Hot Ride!

Don't have any fears about Karen or the board being in Russia...... I bought a board form Karen and he is legit and my board arrived as fast as a domestic shipment and was professionally wrapped with the utmost care!

Top notch seller and all around good guy!   Buy with confidence :biggthump

    Funny. A russian Karen 😂

That *is* why I ordered this board—the ride and what it might do for my riding.  Sorry to talk about the color *during* the season.  If I need to spend $1200 on a snowboard, you can bet I want it to look how I want it to look. Thanks.

Exactly!!! And it looks awesome :)) and this thread isn't called "board usefulness" 😂

Just realized you're pretty close. Will be at Mt Snow Monday and could come pick up in person if that's easier.

Thanks Jack! Long story short, these have been "unused", sitting in a mid-Vermont Ski Shop for a while. Time to make them move. And I am  looking for realistic offers please...
