When I started riding at my local, Mount Wachusett, I never saw another carver for years. Last weekend there were 5 of us regulars together for the first time, with 2 missing.
From left, the WachooMAs: eboot, FluxGame, PointBreak, davidj, GeoffV, followed by a cross section of boards for the day.
Are there any other groups that ride together regularly?

When did we meet before?
Probably coincidence. Bumped into David on Sunday morning, we met a year ago at Wachusett.

Just saw the recent posts today for the first time.
I tend to be there Wednesday later afternoons and then Saturday / Sunday mornings for first tracks.
try to get there more often but failing this season.
@fluxgame if your name is David we just reconnected, if not, looking forward to meeting you.

Enjoy it and can't wait to hear your review
So it is said that a bad workman blames their tools, not me baby! I made that Kessler 168 look awesome today.
Seriously it is all that everyone raves about. There are members here way more qualified than I am to review the board, but from my perspective it was it felt really good from the very first turn.
I set the bindings up centered on the holes, about 62:57. The board likes to be worked and I found I had more confidence on its first run than both my other regular rides: Angrry 162 and Contra 172+2 (this may have had something to do with the excellent conditions today :), a real first this season). My biggest problem is still finishing the turn back up the mountain but found it relatively easy on the 168. The harder I worked it, the more it liked it and I was able to turn as tightly as I wanted on narrow trails.
It did not like to be ridden like a contra, just leaning into a turn, and I found myself suddenly riding on my elbows when I did try.
Looking forward to learning to ride it properly.
@Jack M you were right! It’s a keeper.- 5

Nice! winter is making a come back for the North East. Enjoy it and can't wait to hear your review.
Can't wait to test it.
Away until Sunday morning when I hope that the dump tomorrow will result in great conditions. -
So I never expected to be adding anything to this thread this year, but ... I joined the Klub.
New to me: Stock K168 care of @Shred Gruumer. Board may as well be new - doesn't look like its even been ridden! Even came with some packing swag!!

Risk of release from binding.
Imagine what that might be like.
And absolutely no pressure on boots cruising down Turner

I never got to posting this last season. I had recently put a set of hard bindings on my soft boot carver. For some reason I had used the F2 Intec center plates on a different set of binding that I had sold and had to use plastic ones that I had lying around. It’s a soft boot carving board, right?
The first run was about getting a feel for the angles but the second run was amazing. Good conditions, I was carving like anything. Until … front foot came out of binding and then back foot, while on my heels! Half expecting to twist my leg into a pretzel I suddenly found myself sprawled elegantly on my butt, board screaming away down the trail. Confused as to how that was possible, given that I was leashed, I looked down to find both bindings still firmly attached to my boots. The bindings had pulled through the center plates!
Happy ending, board landed up in the trees slightly scratched, nobody got hurt, I was able to walk, slide down the mountain, ego in tatters, laughing.
What have you done?

Thank you all for your responses, somehow I missed the notifications.
I have in the meanwhile acquired the Jones.
With regards set up, she is still playing with angles but was last set up about 15 front, -5 back. I had her set up with an alpine stance but her instructors insisted she ride duck.
with woman size 8 shoe and flow bindings. Min width is about 24.5.
She was just starting to explore riding on the edge last year but will not easily take instruction from me.

Thank you both! I have been looking at a Jones Mountain Twin at a good price. More free ride.

150 cm ish
She’s not too serious but I would rather look for a board that will allow her to grow into her carving.
