  1. Najserrot, thanks for sharing. Very encouraging to hear. Taking a weekend off but back at it next weekend. Will report back on progress. Thanks again. Out of curiosity, where did you mount your bindings on the inserts? RC
  2. Boots are 30 Mondo Deeluxe. Maybe I"ll try to get the Catek's mounted on the new deck and give that a shot.... Allee and Teach, thanks for the help. RC
  3. Thank you all for your helpful Posts. I appreciate it...and realize my post probably doesn't provide enough detail. I am going to take everything down...and start over. But, to answer a few questions: My old Volkl GS has Catek bindings...which I have always loved. Bomb proof and easy to adjust. They seem to be perfectly situated on that board. My new board has TD3 step ins. I think they are 6 degree cants on front and back but need to check again. I am not fearing that I might not have the set up properly... Queequeg, my angles are 60 on the rear and 65 on the front. When you say "outward" cant, does that mean it should be tilted toward the outside of my foot? Lowrider, I think you are on to something too. I think once i get this board set up properly, I may need to adjust my riding style a bit. Thank you again for all your helpful input. I appreciate it and will keep everyone in the loop on progress. RC
  4. Apologies in advance for my long post....and I know this subject has been covered but I am officially at a loss and need guidance. Got back into by carving board last year after a 10 year hiatus. Having ridden a Volkl GS 183 that was great....but stiff and demanding....I decided to call Bruce and have a custom Coiler Nirvana Balance made to my specs. The board looks amazing....but I cannot get my bindings (angles/cants/etc) in a comfortable/safe position. I have unsuccessfully tried to adjust them several times with little luck. Through most of the adjustments one thing has remained constant. My front leg seems to be holding too much of my weight or pressure, the board is turning dangerously tight on my heelside turns (and hard to come out of my heel side as well). It is also tough to ride in a straight line...the board feels as if it wants to do a heel side slide. The board specs are as follows: Nirvana Balance 178 21" Width 10.5/12.7/12 SCR Ptex Topsheet Feel like I need to go back to square one and re-do everything. Any insight you can provide is a huge help. (I was feeling pretty down and went back to my Volkl just to make sure I hadn't forgotten how to ride...It was a great morning but I need to figure out the new coiler.) Thanks again. RC
  5. Jack, what model of Intuition did you go with? Alpine or Power Wrap or other? I am getting some heel lift in my Deeluxes as well and thinking I should invest in a proper liner. Thanks.
  6. Thanks all. RoroSnow, thats the one. THANK YOU. Much appreciated.
  7. Nextcarve, Thanks for sharing. This is helpful but the one that I was looking for was one long video, similar in approach, but carving with hard boots etc. Anybody remember the one I am referring to? Thanks again, Nextcarve. RC
  8. Happy New Year. Trying to find a link to the Russian tutorial video. I thought I bookmarked it but cannot find it anywhere or through the search. Thanks, in advance! Also, I can't seem to find Bomber's video on mounting bindings. The youtube technical video page seems to be having issues. Thanks for any help. RC
  9. Was just thinking about this thread this morning. Like Corey, I've managed to drop 40lbs through diet and exercise over the last 6 months. I've been in a "losing" phase and now starting to concentrate on building strength and adding flexibility. The drop in weight has added a hop in my step across the board...and I'm not wishing summer/fall away....but I have to say that I am really looking forward to the upcoming season. Stronger, lighter, happier...and looking forward to riding the new Coiler! RC
  10. Corey/Geoff, Sorry for the noob question but can you guys elaborate on the Donek MK? Thanks in advance.
  11. Those particular Catek's have been sold. That said, I do have another set that I may be wiling to part with. I'll defer to 2012Alpine1's offer first. If that doesn't work out, reach out via pm. RC
  12. Sorry for the late update. These boots are sold.
  13. Out of curiosity (and ignorance), can someone explain what makes the Northwave boots mentioned (above) so coveted to warrant $4k?
  14. I ordered my Nirvana Balance on 2/24....Bruce responded that night explaining the titanal situation (apparently he had just learned of it) but assured me that my order was one of the last before the price hike. Based on that, I would guess that any orders 2/25 and beyond include the increase but that is obviously just a guess and I would call to confirm.
  15. Bought these boots 10+ years ago and used them once....maybe twice. Tended to overpower with my size (6'4, 240lb) and went with Deeluxe. Boots are essentially brand new and have just been taking up space. $100 plus shipping
  16. Just replied via PM. Shoot me a note.
  17. Thank you all for your solid feedback and insight. Really appreciate it. In the end, I decided to go with a 178 Nirvana Balance with the tighter radius (10.5/12.7/12m). Bruce has the order in his hands (or waiting for him when he returns from ECES) I'll be sure to report back but just wanted to take the time to thank everyone for their valued input. Cheers, RC
  18. In my experience, these bindings are bombproof. They were one of the original designs (I think) for Catek...They are fully adjustable (Cant/lift).... I bought them in the early 2000's. I sold my back up board and just don't need them anymore. Rather have someone else appreciate. I am sure others (more knowledgeable) can add additional intel but let me know how I can continue to help. RC
  19. I have an older pair of Burton Reactors for sale. Mondo 31. $50 OBO (plus shipping from MA)
  20. Looking to sell a pair of my Catek World Cup bindings. (Long version) Missing one mounting screw but otherwise fully intact and ready for action. $150 (plus shipping) Pictures attached.
  21. While I am already in the process of getting in better physical shape this year overall, I am interested in reaching out to the forum to see if anyone had an off season training regimen specific to carving/racing they would be willing to share. Thinking specifically if any racers out there have something that their coaches may have given them to follow in the off season. I have a new board from Bruce on order and I want to be able to do it justice next season. Thanks, in advance.
