  1. I have two contra's. 184 14scr 19waist and a skinny 174 12.5scr 17 waist. Both have an added layer of rubber. I'll agree with most everything being said here. They both have amazing edge hold but they do require early angulation. I have experienced the weird slarving/sliding on the smaller one so perhaps i should detune. I haven't noticed much of a difference riding centered vs nose or tail. I do ride it more centered than my t4 174 nirvana. Overall, great easy rides. I actually call them my lazy riders. I can just angulate and sit into the carve and chill. Icy steeps, no problem. I'm actually a bit bored of them (and snosboarding in general) perhaps i need something that really launches me out of a turn. I think my next coiler will be a custom skinny nirvana with a tail that wants to hook and kill.

  2. Over two weeks ago, at Aspen, i was being careless riding with @yamifumi who is a regular stance rider vs my goofyness. We basically heelside carved into each other's line and in the process of me avoiding a collision, i did some type of weird fall which resulted in a sprained left knee MCL. It's finally feeling better and i was able to carve this weekend. Interestingly enough, being locked into the high angles i used results in no pain from actual carving. It now only really hurts when i've been sitting for a long time and i try to extend the knee. I'm glad it wasn't worse but the orthopedic surgeon that saw me said i'm fine with any activity as long as the resulting movement doesn't cause pain. It should fully heal in 6-8 weeks. either way, i'm taking it easy.

  3. Time to get rid of the boards i don't ride anymore. Ground shipping (ups/fedex) is included Conus. Both coiler boards have a gouge from hitting a rock or something on the bottom, never affected ride characteristics. I tried to capture everything in the photos, but i'm happy to zoom or facetime if you are serious about buying.  For international, buyer pays shipping. Paypal only, via invoice, i'll eat the fees. I will only ship to a paypal verified addresses. But, I'm open to accepting Bitcoin or ethereum if you're one of the cool kids with crypto.

I'm not even sure why i bought this thinking it would be a good hardboot board. Never liked it.
Unfortunately i guess i didn't store it correctly so the edges are rusty, but not Pitted. still smooth to the touch. I don't feel like scraping off the wax just to gummy the edges. So you buy it as is.

  4. Nice riding! When i was first transitioning to hard-boots I had the very same issues. I wasn't angulating enough nor early enough in the turn on the steeper pitches. Once i got over those fears and committed to angulating more, edge hold increased ten-fold. This past weekend at love-land, on the first run off the main chair, spillway, which is fairly steep, it paid dividends for me to stay "short" during my turns and not stand-up. Short and stacked over the nose, if that makes sense. i still have a lot of work to do with my riding, but early angulation on steeps helps a lot. In fact, a lot of times i feel like i over angulate too early without first building enough speed on heel-side and end up slamming my butt.

Exactly, it's a sports car, it works great but has teething problems, how far away is the repair shop, here in NH it's hours, Maine it's hours, I want a 500 mile range, till then I'll go hybrid.

yeah, i'm lucky to have 2 shops within 20 minutes of each other. 500 mile range would be awesome. I hate having to use superchargers. have only used them a handful of times as i'm mostly doing city driving. But i have heard and read about the horror stories of long wait times during holiday weekends. Honestly, i just want the autopilot tech in regular ice cars. It really is great for those trips with long highway stretches.

Nice setup. Might do stage 2 with pulley someday. Thinking I’ll keep the stock exhaust for stealth and manners. It’s my only car after all. I see a Model 3 in my future, how does it compare?

Nothing beats the model 3 performance in acceleration and the steering is precise without the floaty dead spot that the b.8's were known for. It handles well and corners extremely well.  With tesla you are paying for the tech, and not the fit and finish. Audi is millennia ahead of tesla in terms of fit and finish and quality of materials. And i do miss the Audi interior. I had to decline my first delivery attempt because it had paint chips, a dent and severe panel alignment issues. The second time around paint was flawless but i did still have to take it back a few times to have the doors adjusted. Of course, unlike a lot of tesla prospective owners, i did my research and knew to expect all of these things. Besides that i have had zero issues with the car. Once audi catches up, i might switch back. #firstworldproblems

Awesome. The ECU upgrade is a must. +100 hp can’t be denied. I also did the TCU upgrade, nice, but it’s not as dramatic.

Beautiful! I had a b8.5 s4 full APR stage 2 (full catback + dp's, supercharger pulley, roc euro intake, APR stronic flash) that car was amazing and i miss it. traded it in for a model 3 performance. Nice ride!!
