I am not familiar with the 222 - how does the flex compare to the 223, or other boots in Raichle's line? Do you have pictures to post? About how old are they? Boot sole length? Thanks!

Proper boot fit is also based on volume. If you have a low-volume foot you may have to go down a shell size (one finger?), or find a brand that has a lower-volume fit. [Michelle may be able to help you there.] I have a low-volume foot, skinny ankles and skinny legs, and while my feet measure about 28.5, I have never been able to get any 28.0 or larger boot (snowboard or skiing) to fit tight enough, even with foam liners. As a result, I am on my third consecutive pair of 27.5's. Some brands, while marked a certain size, are actually longer, but the volume is proportionate to the marked size (unfortunately, for some of us with long, low-volume feet, there are some brands that run shorter than marked size). Some brands also have thicker liners than others. Good luck.

FS: Raichle 125 Alpine Snowboard Hardboots. Used, but in top condition, only used a few times per winter for about three seasons. Virtually no wear anywhere on the boots. The size is 30.5 (US12.5, EU11.5, 46.0). Great boots. They come with two different tongues, stiffer one for racing and aggressive carving, plus a softer one for free-riding. The race tongues have not been used. Standard liners. They have a basic foward lean adjustment on the back with "walk" mode, which works great. Still in the original box ($425 new in ?) $99 plus actual shipping costs from Idaho. More pictures available on request. Cheers,

It's been almost a week - D-Sub may be right. Wouldn't be the first time. Most sales on eBay require payment in 3 to 7 days. I never saw Speedzilla's offer (must've sent a PM or I missed it), but there seemed to be other reasonable offers (someone offered $250 + $7.50 for PayPal + Shipping). Perhaps sell to the second highest bidder, or reopen the bidding for one day only, starting at $250? Time for you to get this thing moved and get back to Spring riding.

The standard binding angles for a Skwal are 87.5 front and 85 rear. They recommend only 4cm distance between heel of the front boot and the toe of the rear boot. There has to be a slight offset for the standard bindings so that the toe bail can be closed. The Easy Jungle in that size is more of a powder, soft snow, lighter or beginner Skwaller board. I believe they made that model in a 175 or 180, as well. Will have to check my old catalog tonight. I have a soft copy of the Skwal manual if anyone wants them. Unfortunately, they are too big to attach. If someone wants to post them to a website feel free.

As a life-long waterskier, when I first saw a Skwal, I saw the similarities between the two sports and bought one without ever seeing one in-person. Can't say if it helps my waterskiing or not, but my waterskiing background helped me get started on the Skwal. Also coming from snow-skiing as a Winter sport, it is a much easier transition to be facing almost straight down the board (87.5 front/85 rear). Happy carving,

I have a soft copy of the manual that came with my Skwal when I bought it in '01. It has some basic instructions on set up and technique. Unfortunately, each page is bigger than the allowable size for attachments on this forum. If anyone is interested in compressing it then posting here, or posting it to another website, let me know and I will send you the files. Moving the discussion of Skwals (aka monocarvers) from the "for sale" section to the general carving community: I was just curious where other "Skwalleurs" are located. I am in Boise (ride at Bogus Basin and Sun Valley), and also know of another Boise guy who rides one (mostly at Brundage Mountain). My LaCroix Skwal Contest is going to Dr. D at Big Mountain, Montana. The winner of BB's auction will be added. Saw someone riding a Volkl Monocarver at Bridger last month. There have been several riding at Copper Mountain in Colorado (Skwal had a rep there testing the waters about seven years ago). Any others out there? Best regards,

Sorry to have added to the flurry of e-mails , and further complicating BB's effort to sell his friend's Skwal. I offered my LaCroix to Dr. D and his group as part of the "fun" of having more people on Skwals, and I think they have a good idea for enjoying a unique board, (and they are fun, but if you think you hear lots of inane comments riding an alpine board, you haven't been on a Skwal!). That said, if Dr. D, and consortium, wants the board, it is theirs. If not, Eaglez has made an offer. I have not put it up for sale to the general membership, yet, and am not "auctioning it off", just selling it at my cost. Whether or not my board goes to the "consortium", I will post the instruction manual next week (it is in .pdf format), if you can tell me how to do that. Failing that, I could just e-mail it to someone more technical than I am to post, or at least share with the owners group.

I currently have a new and unmounted Lacroix Skwal Contest. I bought it for a friend, but he has gone into "radio silence", and not sure if he still wants it. If he doesn't take it this weekend, I'll sell it to your new "Skwal Consortium" for my cost, $119 (+ s/h). It will need bindings, but if you can't find them to buy, they can be fabricated from alpine bindings (I can send instructions). Having a second board would double your inventory so that two of you could ride (and try to figure out the thing) at the same time. I will also include a copy of the riding instruction manual, and a copy of the VHS tape that came with my original. I am leaving for the weekend, but will be back on line Sunday PM. Cheers, Bob
