  1. What model year is it? SCR? Can you post pictures? Any standard bindings to sell? Thanks!
  2. From an old Skwal catalog: Extreme carving Ideal for: Racing Precision/performance/stability XL extreme carving Long radius turns For riders with excellent technique Aptitude: Accessibility ** (2* of 5 *) Carving ***** (5* of 5 *) All terrain ** (2* of 5*)
  3. I'll start the bidding at $75 (mainly for the bindings).
  4. I have a similar Skwal and they should work for most, if not all, hard boots, although maybe not those with Intec heels, or other step-in retrofits. In the Skwal videos I have most of the riders are on hard snowboard boots.
  5. Thanks. I was thinking that buying your board in a slightly shorter length than suggested for an advanced rider (168 vs. 172 or longer) which might allow me some slack i.e. it might be a little short for me at a higher skill level, but would allow me to upgrade from my current 1996 Burton AMP 6.0 160cm), to more current technology at a reasonable price. If board technology has changed like ski technology over the last 10 years, then the RT should help make moving up the learning curve a little easier. Let me know if the other buyer doesn't come through. Cheers, Bob
  6. If the board can handle a 185lb relative novice, I think it might be right for me. PM me at bob_roehl@hotmail.com Any standard bindings available? Thanks,
  7. A longshot, but...One more offer. I'll take a pair if the other deals don't come through. PM me at bob_roehl@hotmail.com Thanks!
  8. Stephane, Thank you for the info and the URL. Unfortunately I do not speak French, but I will have one of my French speaking friends translate it for me. Best regards,
  9. I just bought a new Skwal Contest 180, and am looking for regular Skwal bindings (with the bails, not step-in). Any brand is fine (Skwal, Volkl, TD, et al.). Thanks, Bob
  10. KT, or others in the Boise area, Bummed I missed carving at SV last week. Had great carving trying to keep up with Tombo the week before. I'm just getting the hang of my Skwal, but am always looking for someone to carve with. Are you going up to Bogus tonight (Friday 27th) or tomorrow (Saturday, 28th)? If so, send me an email at bob_roehl@hotmail.com Cheers, B

    skwal

You might also try searching for other manufacturers of Skwals aka "monocarvers": mpride (xrace), Thias (many models, but reportedly out of business), Lacroix (X1), Volkl (Monocarver), Snowblind (Monohull) Or try skwalzone.org, skwalattack.ch or the German http://www.carving-ski.de/index1.html?http://www.carving-ski.de/forum.html~inhalt Happy "skwalling". CB
  12. Great. I will be at Bridger on Sunday the 5th and will bring my Skwal (FreeCarve 180), and maybe my old Burton AMP (space permitting). Will contact you that week to arrange time and place to meet. Cheers, Bob
  13. As I was snapping into my Skwal at Targhee Saturday, a group of young (11-13ers?) snowboarders said "Cool", "Awesome", and my personal favorite, "You're my idol", etc., all without the benefit of even seeing me carve (which wasn't possible with zero visibility). Nice change from all the standard inane comments mentioned previously in this thread. BTW - any Skwalleurs or other trench-diggers in the Boise area that could give me some pointers? I am "plateaued" at intermediate (on a good day). Cheers, Bob Boise Thias Skwal FreeCarve 180

    Skwal for sale

Have you sold it yet? I am interested. Thanks!
  15. I am not familiar with Elfgen. What are the bindings made of (metal or plastic like the stock Skwal bindings)? How much are you asking for them? Thanks, Bob
