  1. Don't you youngins' remember when riding was a crime? We had to take proficiency tests, carry a badge testifying that we were competent to be on the mountain, and get hassled by ski patrol when we were nearly killed by an out of control skier. I don't miss the good ol' days!
  2. 1. The light is gone. 2. The snow is gone. 3. The ride to chase the snow exceeds several hours. 4. The board needs a tune.

  4. Thanks for the feedback. Yes the base is a little shallow for powerful carving, but I can practice my GS turns.
  5. Going to knock my rust off this Friday 12/11. Thinking of either previewing ECES at Stratton or Mt. Snow any feedback on these areas from the early season. Not much terrain open, but I can't stand not riding any longer.
  6. Last night I stayed local at little old Mount Southington for CT Ski Council Monday Night Club races (GS). All I can say is Holy Crap! I've never had a ride that handled like this monster. I chose the Berteletti because it had an incredibly tight SCR, and it paid off. The board easily turned tighter than every gate set. I had to actually back off on several gates to keep from turning too tight. Even though I'm off this week, I'm still "on call" until Wednesday, so I'm hoping to head up to Okemo or Killington for some long rides on Friday. I've ridden other brands, but after riding last night, I'm hooked on Donek. Sean, thanks for building awesome rides!
  7. Been waiting all summer for the snow to fly. Donek 182cm Berteletti GS, getting a taste of the first few flakes of our Holiday Nor'Easter yesterday. Getting christened tonight on 15" of fresh powder!
  8. Yes, I live in CT but my son goes to WPI. So I usually meet him for some night riding once or twice a season. Last season I was there and there were a couple of hard booters. It's nice to find other riders when I'm out. I'll post in this thread the next time I'm headed there. How's the coverage? I'd like to get off my rock board and try out my new ride.
  9. For a short ride (one hour) from Boston, I'd head to Wachusett Mountain just North of Worcester. It's a favorite of mine since they groom three times a day! You can find fresh corduroy day and night. They also have night riding. My favorite run is 10th Mountain Trail (as in 10th Mountain Division), has some nice drops and turns just watch the mogul section on upper 10th though there's a nice chute to keep clear of the bumps. It's not the biggest or longest in New England, but anyplace that grooms three times a day will make my list.
