  1. I'll take the board, bindings and heels. I have to check with a buddy for boot size. If they fit I'll take those too. But all else is great. e-mail me (enabled in profile) and I'll send you my UPS number for shipping charges. Excited to get something turnier than my SIMS Premium 167.
  2. Jesse, No worries. I rode till about 3 on Saturday. Bagged Sunday at 5:30am from bed. Eric
  3. How about some starter boards? I am just starting out. I am positive that I need practice, but I am not sure if my board is right. I have a Burton AMP 5.3 and a SIMS Premium 167. I weigh only 135 pounds and am about 5'7" tall. Are these boards too stiff for me? The SIMS seems to want to go really fast before it carves. I just wonder of learning might be easier if I had a more suitable board?
  4. Jesse, I looked for you today, but I didn't see you. I was on Razors Edge after they took down the race course. I assume that you also mostly ride Razors Edge. Debating about going tomorrow. My car does not do well in ice or snow.
  5. Just wondering if there will be any carvers there this weekend (1/16 or 1/17). I am new to carving and it would be cool to meet up with some of you guys.
  6. It's like something just clicked. Two and a half days and it just happened. I am not laying out on the snow yet, but toe side and heel side carves. I'm not sure if i'm doing crossovers or unders, but that float and bit of air between carves. Riding the down hill edge. I am wondering what vintage this Sims Premium 167 is and was it a race board? Is there something out there better suited to my weight? (dumb question). Something that does not need to be going 900 mph to carve? Ski patrol kept telling me to slow down.
  7. Oh. My. G-d. I am hooked! I found the the cure. Speed. I got the disease.:lol::lol:
  8. It is definitely an amazing feeling when the edge locks in and the board just rides a rail. I just need to make it do that reliably on the heelside. I was already doing crossovers on my soft setup, but I did a couple today over the top of a small rise. Coooool. And I thought I was obsessed with regular snowboarding... This is sick...
  9. So I rode again this afternoon. Softer snow up higher on the mountain. Now I went back and read some of the tech articles again. Now they make sense. I can't wait to get back on the board again. I tink that I am looking at the fall line on the heel side and that's why I am washing out. I'm going to email the tech articles to my cell phone so I can read them on the lift.
  10. Ok, now I'm on the longer Sims. Toe lift helped. Now I think I really like this. Toe side seems easy to lock in an edge. But the heel side seems to want to wash out. On the toe side it seems like pressure on the rear boot gets it to carve. But pressure on the front boot does not seem to get the heel side to carve as easily. Speed helps a lot.
  11. I was riding the Burton. I'll try the Sims today. And some toe lift. I'll let you know.
  12. Wow, Just rode the board for the first time, and it is cool. But my quads are burning! I am in Raichle SB423 boots with the original lean adjustors. Would the BTS make it easier on my quads?
  13. Sure, I am still interested. I have long since stopped growing. I am in Canada right now. I'll be home next week and I can ship them to you then. I am in Philly.
  14. b0ardski, what is the fourth board(s) from the left?
  15. Is anyone going to be at Whister between those dates? This will be my first time on an alpine board. Just want to pick up a few pointers and watch.
  16. I don't think I can get to Cypress. I have two kids with me as well as the rest of the family. But I will bring both boards as well as my regular board. The Burton is wider, but it is hard to say which is stiffer.
  17. Oh, I will be at Whistler 12/20 through the 27th. Then I will be at Killington and Stratton later in the year.
  18. Sorry for the lack of info. I am 5'7 and weigh about 135. I started riding (at the insistance of my kids) three years ago and will never ski again. I like ride fast and I can't ride angls less than 24* front or the outside of my foot is in agony. I like 27* better. I am able to hold a decent carve in softies until I boot out.
  19. I am new to carving. I got a setup on BOL at the end of last season and never had a chance to try it. I do like carving in softies. I seem to ride very high angle in softies, 27 front and 15 rear. Anything less on the front makes my foot hurt. I have two Alpine boards, a Burton Amp 5.3 and a Sims Premium 167 and a pair of Catek OS bindings. Which board would be better to start on? I am about 5'7" and 135 pounds. I am going to Whistler from 12/20 through the 27th. Will anyone be there or does anyone know an instructor?
  20. I can't listen to anything while I am riding. But I really like this stuff, esp Shpongle and Bluetech. http://www.aleph-zero.info/ BTW, does any body know of an instructor at Whistler? And which board would you recommend for a starter, Burton amp 5.3 or Sims Premium 167? Sorry for the threadjack
  21. Just re-affirming my interest in the boots. :D
  22. I'll take them. E-mail me at emorris at vonmorris dot com and I'll e-mail you back my UPS account number. All charges will go to my account.
  23. I just bought a board, bindings and boots to try out carving. Boots are Mondo 26.5 and bindings are Catek OS1 with long plates. Should be on short plates. These appear to be in near perfect condition. 10mm kingpin bolt. See blue arrow. Model L. Anyone out there with the opposite situation? I send you mine if you send me yours. Located in South Jersey. I will ship UPS. Eric
  24. I just got the board, bindings and boots that I bought. It turns out that the disks are both 4x4 and Burton disks. But I have OS1's with long plates and I could use shorts. Would be willing to trade longs for shorts.
  25. Need 3D disks with the divot rings for Olympic Bindings.
