  2. For what its worth, I moved to a mondo 29.5 UPZ. Both sets of boots fit my feet
  3. Marking are as follows :- RG-12 LA The original box doesn't list a Mondo either.
  4. @Steve - bindings become available if board finds a new home. Otherwise, this board is my rock board, and I'll keep the bindings on it.
  5. @Steve in Oregon....let me think about that... @Mellow - PM sent w email addy.
  6. That is freaky. "How many of you fellow carvers out there have seen a slow zone, registered it, shut it down and cut your speed, move over to one side away from the main group, rolled through the slow zone and STILL had these enforcers shout at you to slow down?" Never. I've been pulled once for speeding/disrespect. I cut through a line of newbies on a lesson (hey there was plenty of space, and the whole line of newb's was taking up most of the width of the slope). The whistle blows, the ski-patrol guy has a chat and marked my ticket (day pass). I've been high-fived by the lifty before - guess he hadn't seen many hard-booters before.
  7. more pics Bindings (Catek WC's long plates) could be made available if board finds a new home.
  8. Specs are :- Prior board 176cm built for 179 lbs Carbon Kevlar 18cm waist 22.5 nose / tail GS symetrical There's a tiny ding on the tail that was repaired years ago. There are p-tex edge issues; you can see the edge material under the P-tex (the shop suspects rust migration, which makes it visible); and you can see the occasional P-tex hairline crack up to about 2cm out from the edge. If you run your nail up/down the edge, you can feel some of the cracks. I left the board wet in a board bag for a week, and thats what you get from that. I took it to a shop to see what they could do. They said that they had some issues completely levelling the base, and they did a half-way kind of job, fearing that any further work would end up destroying the board. Having said that, the camber is still good, and I rode the board a month ago, and it rides OK. Obviously things are just going to get worse with it..
  9. Catek World Cup Long plates, with short plates also. condition :- - Long plates are in good working condition - There is a minor angulation on the front bail on one of the bindings, noticeable if you look at it, it didn't affect performance - One of long plates is faded. - Short plates have some noticeable wear on heel plate areas. - Normal divots on baseplate at binding positioning angles - Incomplete second screw set - some tilt screws, some heel / toe pieces (what you see is what you get). - The toe/boot screw hole on the faded toe bail has been retapped from M8 to M9. I had no luck finding a M9 bolt however, so if you need to run a bolt to get boots to fit correctly, it could be enlarged to the more common size of an M10. Reason for sale:- I've moved to OS2's. Asking $75 + shipping
  10. skiing first. On first day of skiing I saw snowboarding and decided it was what I wanted to do. Started snowboarding (plates, ski boots w Burton Air) for last 2 months of season. Later that year I started skateboarding. Windsurfing was tried briefly during that year also; and later became somewhat of an obsession.
  11. Given the all day rain forecast on Sunday, snowboarding is cancelled, will be going kayaking on Sat instead at Wilson Creek.:)
  12. Heading to App on Sunday for their Crescent Race training day. Gates, gates and gates. Apparently it's the same price $54 for the clinic as it is for a lift pass (and the clinic includes a lift pass). Probably call the ski school if you want more info on how to sign up etc.
  13. 52mph. 190cm Prior, green run (quiet, few people), Garmin GPS.
  14. I started using a TLD D2 and love it. I picked up a Sweet Rocker for kayaking, and like that a lot also. The Trooper, if I recall correctly, isn't easily available in the USA.
  15. http://video.snowshoemtn.com/tv/405/video-Cupp-Run-Challenge---Feb.-mid-22537-vid-147-cID--c--page-.html?video_id=22537 Who's in? I'm going.
  16. Technique...not sure..I'm still learning... I'm hitting the poles with my arms and back, trying to get my turn started way before the gate, and most recently looking at the following gate before setting my angle for the upcoming gate. Not shinning them yet. Watch some of the fast ski racers - pace-setters, and watch what they do. Everyone who is fast is heavily angulating their ski's nowadays, and the style doesn't look much different from snowboarding. I got way off line last Sat and ran over one of the poles, went flying....no damages though.
  17. I wouldn't call them cheap, but I'm using these. They are superbly built. http://ski-tuning.com/shin_kekaarmguard.html
  18. cripes...I got to buy one of those bars. I read that you should just ignore the divots under the bindings. But, the entire length?? Scary... Paul
  19. Supercheap - becoming avail soon...ping me for advance details.
  20. Saw one other carver from the lift on Sat...didn't catch up with them though. Paul
  21. That would make a fine part III to the story? Can we hear what happened in the meeting with them?
  22. Sugar both days. Slalom Sat, GS on Sunday.
