  1. Report from NICE. What to say? It IS NICE:o) The weather, not so much. BUT. Early loads, good friends and LOTS of hardbooters makes for an all around fine time. Schweitzer no ka oi!!!!! (If you aren't here, you should be. Kram, Pusbag, Boardski have done a FABulous job getting this together.) Manana:o)
  2. Hi ho, Troy:

Lookin' forward to NICE in a bit. Cannot find info on it though. Can you tell me when everyone is getting together?

    Thanks,

    Max

  3. So a friend, her daughter (skiiers) and I are handing our gear to the gondola guy. Another gondola guy comes up and looks at my board (a 154 cm Nale) and he's looking ALL around but not at us. Finally he says to the first gondola guy "whose board is this?" And I say "mine":D Pardon me, sir, your sexism AND ageism is showing!!!:p
  4. Hiho, Now THAT sounds like fun:biggthump Aspen. Never been there - never been to Mecca either:lol: I'm with Kinpa - saving pennies now;)
  5. I'll need to retire before I get anywhere NEAR my age (60 this year-yikes). *sigh* I am working on that:lol: Sounds as though everyone has/had a great season. Cheers, Max

Thanks, Troy. I should put my hardboot bindings on her and take her for a spin. I just always think about riding her in softies - since that what I did before discovering "the true path":) So, from now on, she'll have a day (or more) a year. She's good in powder, for sure. Cheers, Max
  7. Hi ho, All: Just caught up with the postings. I LIKE:1luvu: the idea of a WES. No doubt we could pull it off too. No, Steve did not have me ride the Diablo. But he did bring a board that I had way fun on and have added to my "quiver". Sorry I missed Big Mountain's last hurrah and meeting some of you. Next year? Sad to see the season over:( Cheers, all Max

Hiho, all: I am going to attempt to post a picture of my beloved Arbor koa board. I've enjoyed looking at the pictures you've all posted. Some very nice boards for sure. I really like the "Ent" (think Lord of the Rings) on the bottom of mine. Cheers all at the end of a great season, Max
  9. Hi ho, all: I went back thru my emails and can't find the kind offer to ride with some folks and try their boards at Big Mountain this weekend. Ah, well. I am unabashedly computer illiterate! Anywho, I had thought I might be able to do this but sadly a funeral has intervened. So, ladies, maybe next year I can do some traveling to meet, ride and swap boards with you. I greatly appreciate everyone's willingness to help out:1luvu: Happy spring. Onward to next season:biggthump Cheers. Yours in hazards, Max
  10. Hiho, all who have responded: Thanks so much for the ideas. Whitefish in April? Hmmmm, a possibility. And it would be way fun to meet you, ride with you and maybe try out some boards. Thank you for the offers. Not too many folks around here to ride with let alone of the female persuasion:lol:. Oh, and I don't think I am much of a hazard but if you haven't seen the video of the enraged skiier going off on us at NICE, ya gotta:biggthump It's very funny. Cheers, Max
  11. Hi ho, Russ: Sorry to hear your boss is a prick. Good for you to put a positive spin on it. I hope things go well with you and congrats to your son. Yours in hazards, Max
  12. Hi ho, Thank you so much for your response, Two_Ravens. I appreciate your input and do think a custom board will be in my future. "The guys" are always willing to put in their two cents when asked but there IS a difference that just doesn't translate well. ;) I always like to hear other women's experiences. Thanks again. Yours in hazards, Max
  13. I have been enjoying lurking on this thread. Good ideas and things to think about and try. I am currently thinking of a new board and wonder what sizes/kinds of boards you all ride? This will be my second board, my current "beginner" board is a 159 cm Nidecker Next Step. I am completely comfy on it so methinks it's time for a new one. I did "sorta" demo a 163cm Donek at NICE this year (sorta means I only had 2 runs) and was admittedly very cautious so really can't say good/bad/indifferent. Thanks for any and all ideas. Yours in hazards:lol: Max
  14. Oooh, nice pix. Wish I could be there instead of work. Plan is to hit Silver tomorrow:) Have fun today.
  15. Had an absolutely fantastic day at Silver yesterday. :D Good snow, great groom, NO people, good friends. Can't say I carved 100% of the turns but I carved a lot of them. Progress!!! Too much fun and such a rush:) Saw Steve P briefly. Had a cool cam mounted on the front of his board. He was riding with a guy who is amazing on softies and step ins (sorry, don't know name). May this season never end. Yours in hazards, Max
  16. Hiho, A skier friend of mine was up at Schweitzer on Friday and said it was amazing. Then she said "and I saw two guys on boards like yours, one with poles and one with a ponytail. They were AMAZING!! I see what you mean." So, Kram and Boardski (and probably Pusbag), good on ya:biggthump Making converts, one at a time. Cheers, Max
  17. HI ho, Kris: The video is FANtastic. Made only the better by the skier and his emphatic poles:AR15firin:o Too funny. And, Mark, ever the King of facetiousness:lol: Great start and finish to some fine carving. Troy, you made me dizzy! Cheers, Max
  18. Tokenskier (aka Aaron?); WONDERFUL pix:D Good on ya. Once again a good time was had by ALL. (Even Sean breaking a board on Stiles):( No injuries so it's all good. Cheers and yours in carving, Max
  19. Hi ho, Dan: Glad to know what your face really looks like under that mask:biggthump Sure had fun at NICE and thank you for helping me swap out bindings when I demoed the Donek. Snow, snow and MORE snow. I plowed twice today - first time dry and second time very wet. 2 FEET of new at most hills. Cool. Thinking spring but hard to let go of riding:o The pix of Octavio et al are great. Thanks for posting. Garret is looking skeptical and I'm thinkin' "oh, yeah?";) Anywho, it ALL was good. Same time, next year. Cheers, Max
  20. Hi ho, all: What a wonderful event. Kudos to Russ, Troy, Mark, Tanya and ALL the folks at Schweitzer who put this on:o) A good time was had by all, it is safe to say. Mikestrain, loved the video. Thanks for posting. Ma Nature's cold weather did NOT put a damper on us. Thanks again, everyone. It was nice to meet new folks and put faces to names. Incredible riding was seen all around the mountain. Hope to see everyone there next year. Cheers, Max
  21. Hi ho, all: Bummer, Dude. Sorry to hear Maureen has to cancel and hope Nathan gets better. Sorry, Troy, that sickness has visited your hacienda. Hope things get better for everyone. Aaron (guy on skis) and I arrive tonight (weds) sometime to be there for Thurs:o) Lookin' forward to seein' y'all! Cheers, Max
  22. Hi ho, all: The pix you posted are great:o) Glad to see everyone having some fun and carving up a storm. Looking forward to joining you on Thurs! Cheers, Max
  23. Hi ho, Steve: I've secured the 24th onward off work. Yee haw, Chesaw!! Will look for you guys at Schweitzer:o) Work just gets in the way of fun:) Cheers, Max
  24. Hiho, Troy, Aaron and I plan on being there on the 24th+. Are there any pass discounts for this event? Should we just get passes online like we did last year? I'm looking forward to this and the Hawai'ians are coming, the Hawai'ians are coming:o) Looking forward to seeing you. Cheers, Max
  25. A sunny day at Silver. Typical (kinda crummy) grooming but way fun carving:o Thanks, Steve. Had a blast. Also loved hearing in lift line "you guys are carving some great turns. Reminds me of surfing". Yup!
