  1. Asking $800.

Honestly, if you are a beginner you probably don't need to spend $800 for something to get started on. You could probably find something under $200 that would be more than adequate as a starter board.

I PM'd you a bunch of boards forsale in the Bomber forums that might be good for you. You could also start a thread in the "Want to Buy" forum and I'm sure you'll get lots of help and suggestions.

    Thanks,

  2. 2010 Prior FLC 169W

    Specs:

    Length: 169

    Nose width: 26.1

    Waist width: 21

    Tail width: 25.7

    Radius: 11/13

    Purchase date: January 25th, 2010

This is Priors newest shape. For more info look here:

    http://www.priorsnowboards.com/boards_flc.php

Board has been ridden only 1 full day and about 5 nights. With the exception of a few minor lift line nicks this board is in excellent condition.

Asking $800 --> $750 + shipping. New this board would cost $1000 +tax and shipping.

Board must be sold by November 1st or I'm keeping it for another season.

I can be reached through e-mail at: rydeguy at gmail dot com

  3. When l did my Level ll in '98 l asked if l could do it in hard boots. The examiner's eyebrows crept up his forehead in such a way as to say "shall l just fail you now?" Things must have changed since then!

Nice one Scooby, thanks! PM sent. Don't know how to enable my email yet...

That is the opposite of my experience. I did my Level II in 97 in softboots and EVERYONE else was on hard boots except 2 of us. Even both examiners were on plates.

  4. Skis arrived today. They look awesome...and short. Shortest pair of skis I've ever owned.

Thanks again to BobD and wvrocks for the link and the coupon. Sierra sent me a $40 e-gift card as well. If anyone is going to buy anything from Sierra you are welcome to my gift card. It expires December 22nd.

  5. I'm guessing it's too late to get your credit card company to reverse the chargers.

You could order Cateks from a distributor like Prior or Donek. I would talk to them first though and make sure they are going to honor the warranty, because at this point it's doubtful you'll get any help from Catek.

  6. I have read in a few different places that the railflex bindings won't work on the plate without redrilling, and then the rail would prevent the plate halves from sliding. The SP90 has a 31mm stand height and looks solid (unless you are a 8+ din skier). I might end up going with that if no other 31mm stand height bindings turn up soon. Otherwise ski depot have the SP120 for $120.

    Thanks for the reply.

The link I posted was for a FreeFlex 11 which I believe works with the speed plate hole pattern. I like the idea of having the heel float with the toe piece. It's kind of like the plates for our snowboards that everyone is raving about.

I'm a DIN 6 so the SP90 might work too.

  7. I have used the Tyrolia SL110 and sp120 bindings. The Sp120 is a demo binding, but is very solid. I didn't notice any real difference between the two.

They both have about a 30mm stand height, which helps with boot out.

Levelnine Sports is the cheapest place to buy them.

Thanks for the suggestions. Levelnine doesn't have either of those bindings in stock. I was thinking of this ski:

Does the Speed Plate take the Railflex bindings as well?

  8. If you reject a UPS package the sender pays the return fees.

If it is your first time getting ripped off by UPS Ground you can have the brokerage fees removed.

First off reject the package. They will take it to the nearest hub and keep it there for 5 days. Call up customer service and tell them you had no idea about the fees. If it's your first time they should voluntarily waive them. If they don't hang up and call back to get a different CSR.

Saying that, I would just use USPS and avoid all hassle and hidden fees.

  9. I rode both soft and hard boots on this board. It works great for either. It can ride in almost any type of snow. It does VERY well in the crud.

I traded away my SX for a pair of skis a long time ago and I totally regret it.

Put me down for 3rd in line. :)

  10. I thought all things considering people were being pretty supportive. It's jeff who said he'll be addressing issues LIFO and that if you wanted to get to the top of the queue just shoot another e-mail.

So people are following his instructions and are still not getting any support. How are they supposed to feel? Why can't they express their feelings in this thread?

  11. You don't think this is just a little antagonistic posted on a hardboot forum? Just a little?

Ya, there may be a little back peddling going on.

I understand where 1surfer is coming from though. Back when I was young and stupid I honestly believed I could carve harder (on softboots) than 99% hard booters. I eventually learned the truth, and joined the dark side. I haven't been on softboots in 10+ years. :)

  12. personally I truly hate using laces & straps; much less convenience, durability, support & response than aluminum plates & plastic shells. But, I don't hate on people that like more range of motion in their interface in soft snow, I just don't understand the preference for inferior equipment.

Nobody gets 5-10 yrs hard use out of soft gear:confused:

I wouldn't exactly call soft boots inferior equipment. It just has a different application. There are certain terrain where softboots win.
