  1. Great idea! Might work! But the pro said that it depends on the used lights as well … I really don‘t know … I am just a snowboarder
  2. @Mr.ETrue that! @Shred Gruumer Yes, the new petrol top sheet (teal color) and there is a big embossed Oxess Logo across the whole board (kind of hard to see in a pic) and the small logos are silver. Got a lot of compliments on the mountain!
  3. The question was how close can we come to alpine carving (hardboots) in softboots. You will never have the same power transmission and I am using normal softboots (middle flex, no customization) and mid flex bindings. So nothing super stiff. Still, I had tons of fun and I was surprised by the results . Softboot carving …
  4. @daveoI talked to a pro … it is very difficult … no real solution for amateurs … just try different cameras or settings … @ShortcutToMonctonIt is real time material, no after effects But I liked it as well @johnasmoit would help a little, but I thought that I would use slo mo, so I shot with 120FPS and then did not use it
  5. @ShortcutToMonctonThank you! It is a GoPro 10. The problem is the frame rate in relation to the flickering of the artificial lights … @softbootsurfer Appreciate it!
  6. Hello fellow carvers! Here is a short clip from a recent night session. Tell me what you think! Have a great season!!!
  7. The SG Soul XT is a solid choice. If you have the money, you could definitely check Oxess. They are heavily focusing on softboot carving boards at the moment and they can build almost anything you like or need. Boards can be adapted to your weight and whatever preferences you have. The P-1 could be for you. Or the CX if you really want to focus on carving on slopes. You would have to contact Oxess via their site.
  8. Hey, Mr. Slapa! Very good video! I like year 1 the best! Hahaha, just kidding! Great work!
  9. Option one - go for the 158 Option two - ask Marcel for a custom option for you!
  10. @scottishsurfer @daveo and that is exactly what the focus was! It is difficult to make a board for a lot of rider tastes, but I guess we really hit a sweet spot. We wanted a board for high tilt carving. And suitable for bigger feet as well. The 162 comes in 26.2cm and 27.6cm. That should cover some ground. Also depending on your stance angles. @Shred Gruumerwhere do I start? I have a US9, which is not that big, but to get as low as in the teaser, you need the right width. So cross out all the boards with a waist of less than 26cm. And that is a lot of boards from your list and something I will never understand. Furthermore, all BX specific boards are designed for low tilting angles (because of the banks), high speeds and a lot of them have a radius which is not suitable for on slope carving. The CX is designed from the ground up for carving - different flex, harmonious, but effective nose and tail shapes, perfect radius (10.5) for variable turns in different conditions, very smooth camber/decamber transitions. Sometimes differences seem subtle, but the whole package works in a particular way. There is also a 158 for smaller, lighter riders or even riders who like to include a lot of tricks in their riding. Let me know if you need anything else!
  11. Hi all! I hope you are having a great season so far! Oxess just uploaded my teaser for an upcoming softboot carving board called the CX. I hope you like it! It is pretty short! If you want to know anything about it, just let me know! By the way, there is a lot going on at the moment. I just finished a short text about the current state of the carved turn in the snowboard industry. I want to share that with you and get your opinions! And a short alpine clip is also coming soon! Stay tuned!
  12. Basically the softer the snow, the softer my setup gets. I ride my alpine setup for most days on the slopes. If it gets so soft that the board sinks in noticeably I switch to my softboot carving board. And if it gets really soft and even powder then I go to my Japanese snow surfers. Of course there are exceptions. Sometimes I just like to slash the slush on my alpine equipment ! Or see how far I can push my softboot carver on hardpack …
  13. So I weighed it especially for you! It is 3.7kg. May I ask why you want to know?
  14. @pow4ever if we are talking just about carved turns, they feel different in hardboots and in softboots. And you can also feel certain aspects of the turn in different ways, so your focus also shifts. And this experience can then be transferred to the other setup. I hope that makes sense @softbootsurfer between 157 and 159 is my absolute sweet spot for this kind of board! @Chouinard Burton boots have a very small footprint, therefore I still use them despite there being some other great options available. For the same reason I use Union bindings. My boots are 27.0 Mondopoint. For the board I guess you mean the width? The most important spec is the width under the back binding, but most of the time, this information is not provided by the manufacturer. So if we take a look at the minimum waist in the middle of the board, I found that it should be about 1.5cm wider than your foot is long. The binding angles are not that important, because the length of your setup doesn‘t change a lot between 0 and 20 degrees and most riders fall in that area (there are exceptions, I know!). My feet are 26.4cm long, so my softboot carving board is 27.8cm in the middle. No bootout for me.
  15. It is a P-1 in 159 … we are constantly trying to evolve the shape. Super fun board with lots of performance (and the right width )! Yes, I do both sides! Great video clip from yours!
  16. Hello! My new video is online. Only this time … … it is in softboots! I hope you guys don‘t mind! I learned through the decades (time flies ) that both riding styles can profit a lot from each other! I really hope you enjoy it!
  17. Thank you, my friend! If such an SXR would exist, it would bring so much joy!
  18. You can turn it really tight. I would say that the Allflex helps a bit (better pressure distribution). I normally use the standard Allflex M flex with longitudinal or triangular cut. The new limegreen option (it was my idea ) is new and should be available for everyone for next season. Specs are very personal. Marcel will help you. I use flex H boards with 197mm to 202mm widths. Some have some extra carbon inlays. Differences aren‘t too big.
  19. RS162 has 10m - very tight, great when it is really steep and very agile. RS164 has 11.5m - better allrounder, handles longer, faster turns better and can still do very tight turns.
  20. Hey, thank you so much!!! Which Oxess model? That is not so easy to answer. In the video I am on Oxess RS162 and RS164 models. But they are all a little different concerning mainly construction and slight differences in width. I also use an RS185, but not too often ... Good choice! In fact that is a highly limited edition made by The North Face for Supreme.
  21. You know, it is a drive for perfection. Just like with the boards and any other piece of equipment. I want to know the differences for myself. Deeluxe, UPZ, Northwave or Mountain Slope? Bomber TD3, CC Speed TC or F2 Race Ti? Vist, Bomber, Apex or Allflex? Kessler, SG, Apex or Oxess? Goretex Active, Goretex Pro, Dermizax or Schoeller membrane? Primaloft or down? 3L, 2.5L or 2L? And so on and so forth ... I tried everything myself ... it is a process and you end up with a lot of stuff ... but it is part of the journey and also a lot of fun ... (Sorry for all the stuff and companies I left out )
  22. Not even half my stash ... #toomanyseasons
