  1. Is it a custom? If so, what weight rider was it made for? How long was it raced for? I'm interested.
  2. I wasn't aware that I pedal the board. I'm sure I do, just not aware of it. Possibly on cat tracks to maintain balance if I need to take them home. Is it something I'll do during actual carving/riding though? So what advantage does being able to pedal the board yield? Is it just low speed manoeuvrability? Or is it something I will notice while carving at a normal speed? I'm happy to sacrifice low speed manoeuvrability for carving stability... Or do I have all this wrong?
  3. They were nice enough to take me to the ski school and perform some adjustments. I've never had anyone teach me or help me set up gear. Once it was done it was amazingly comfortable. He took one look at me, then did the following: -Widened stance (on widest holes on the coiler. I'm 190cm for reference) -Toe lift on front boot (mine was flat already have heel lift on rear boot) -Inward cant on front boot -Centred my UPZ properly on the board (the boot is a bit weird because of the small footprint they try for) -Binding angle difference increased to 7 or 9 degrees, but I put it back to 60/55 because it just felt more natural to me. I'll discuss this with them next year Dan =D
  4. If anyone had ridden both boiler plates and had any input regarding them, is take appreciate the feedback. I'm struggling to pick between them, I was told by a few riders I should get the 5mm. But I've been reading a bit and not sure if I should get the 4mm or 5mm.
  5. Just make sure they fit properly. My deeluxe boots were a nightmare from day 1 and my upz are amazing. But horses for courses. Upz, narrow heel, wider toe box, lower volume Deeluxe, wide heel, narrow toe, higher volume So, if one doesn't fit properly, the other probably will. Ivan at www.carver.si stocks upz and you can get them without 20% vat and very low shipping rates, which makes them much more reasonably priced than getting them in the US. He gave me great advice regarding size and boot choice when my deeluxe didn't fit.
  6. The 900 was the bomb. Had a pair on my freeride board before I got into carving. Best softboot binding ever.
  7. I couldn't even get my liners into my boots before I molded them, let alone buckling them up. Have you molded them yet?
  8. A lot of the time was embarrassed to be Australian, unfortunately. On and off the mountain.
  9. Hey guys, I recently got some advice regarding carving Japan on here from a fellow member. Thanks for that. Well, on the second run of my first day in Japan, I met 4 lovely Japanese carvers. All using SG Full Carve boards and Boiler Plates of some variation (except one on the wonderful SG plate). So it turns out they are all very experienced and one was even a high level instructor and racer himself (Mr. (Master!) Aoki). They helped me progress over the days I was there and were very patient with me. Take (Yujiro) took me under his wing and befriended me on the first lot ride together and that was a really refreshing experience. I rode with them for 3 days, I was even given a toe lift for my front boot, cant plates, my stance was adjusted and everything felt so natural after that. I was even allowed to borrow a Donek plate for the day (and broke the mount on a bumpy run) and was filmed for a whole day. I could have just been ignored but they went above and beyond the call of duty of anyone. Thanks to you all and I look forward to next year! Happo One seems to be the best mountain for carving in Japan, if anyone was interested. I can't say enough good things about the people and the mountain. Shout out to Prof. Varsava for the new 178cm long, 12-14m SCR, 19cm wide, 16mm taper, matte black Nirvana Vcam. Left to right: Master Aoki, his partner Ms Hashizume, Daijiro, Yujiro and Me- Dan.
  10. Why do you have to discredit an honest seller? Where are the mods?
  11. Ahhh I see. Yeah that makes sense. Ty pokkis!
  12. Can anyone confirm that it only comes in goofy? That just sounds idiotic to me.
  13. Interesting. I wonder if it is just an update. How does a vist compare to a boiler plate? I'm currently in Japan and on Monday rode with 3 guys and 1 girl who all had boiler plates on their SG Full Carve 170. They were awesome people.
  14. Hey guys, just wanted to see if anyone has ridden the new VIST plate? Looks interesting, anyone have any thoughts?
  15. Hans, maybe I'll take one of those boards. Do you have any photos?
