  1. If every snowboard ever built was based on sound engineering and a complete text of all relevant math formulas i"m sure Bruce and others of his unique skill wouldn't have time to test and ride the boards being built today.I've never seen his shop but i have a wonderful impression in my mind what his and others shops look like and if they are like a sterile operating room with walls covered in math formulas i don't think i could enjoy riding any board thinking i have condemned the man to that fate! Correct me if I'm wrong but my impression is he takes an idea builds it improves on it enjoys it and moves on.If the act of snowboarding is only a series of math formulas repeated by each change of direction then I'd say find a new sport. Corey dyck is right someone is breathing some funny air. I've always though that the pursuit of a new idea was worthy of the scrutiny of some but the respect of all. It's not about the math it's about the fun !

  2. Funny feeling on heel side turn i look down front toe bale is open down i go left leg spinning with the 186 coiler spinning like a chopper blade luckily my body kept up with the rotations as well. That sick slow motion feeling slowly leaves my body.I have survived my worst snowboarding fear. Now the big question is anyone working on releasable bindings?? ie; if one opens both open. Never affected my nerve on skis as the fear of windmilling on one ski was moderated by the knowledge that another impact would release the final ski. Not the case with a snowboard almost as long and twice the weight. I was totally in tune with each rotation waiting for that final crunch!! Luckily it didn't happen.:barf: Tylenol is my friend! i'm very pleased my hip, knee and ankle have survived the short hellicopter flight. Any other bombers have a similar flight ??

  3. I used to think the parliamentry system came through in times of trouble but it seems even under present circumstances to be totally reliant on politicians who have the guts to do what they know is right, so far few have shown that they are up for the challenge They talk and talk but when the rubber hits the road they still prove themselves to be mere politicians. Hope one or two will reveal themselves as mortals some day soon.

  4. Rust on edges will result in rust creeping around the edge to under base. Oil is good but a film of petroleum jelly will provide a better film ,wax the base well then apply jelly to bottom and edge of metal. If the board is dry when applied you will never see rust even if your water pipes are dripping from condensation this summer.Same can be said for any minor nicks on metal boards, oxydation can start on exposed bruises along the side too:smashfrea so apply petrolium jelly to those as well.

  5. The most obvious and simplest solution to a board sliding away while trying to hook up is a little friction.I stole this from a friend who borrowed it from another. It's so simple I should charge for it ? Don't laugh Mark! Stand on your mitt or glove . That's it ! Finished hooking up hop off, grab the glove and you are good to go . No need to look like a kid in soft boots dragging your soggy butt around because of wet spring conditions. Look professional your a hard booter now!

  6. To skatha and dingbat funny how that worked out i'm not the moderator . you fail to get my point. In Canada i don't have the rite to have a gun I have to ask the gov't permission pretty sad Eh!! wish i lived where you do . By:AR15firin:AR15firin birth rite i could be packing while walking on snowshoes or cutoff skis get the point now???

  7. I would say go for it! you will never hurt this board, while it is older it will serve you well on crowded slopes.I have one, as well as a double cambered hooger booger a very interesting ride and a technology i'm sure will be revisited at some time .The same way tinkler has reinvented the once famous kildie flex .Might want to make an offer but if shipping in included ???:biggthump

  8. They had to walk without their snowshoes .Probably still walking around shaking their heads. Do you thing they would come back to buy a membership and support this place so I can keep carving ?My son can't wait to blow this pop stand and get out to the rockies where his brother and sister are.

  9. SWriverstone; Thanks for the post i'm trying to be one of the 20 % as i seem to have an inherent dislike for authority types a post like yours is something i can relate to ,self teaching is good ! why does everthing have to be so complicated . It's also nice to have another point of view available to all on a forum like bomber. As a newbie to it I still have a thin skin but if i keep skidding it will thicken up:biggthump.

  10. At about same situation with my wife still married 30 yrs. You are treading dangerous waters here my boy. Either she will love you for your help or ??Better get engaged then continue with lessons. Does she use protection ? Nothing personal but this past weekend saw my wife coveting my wrist guards they are hers now .tailbone protection next. That extra protection really helped with the confidence to push a little harder.A little more confidence a little more speed better linked turns:biggthump, your a hero. Good Luck to you both!

  11. Snowshoe couple "ordered off" walking from chalet to chalet across bottom of hill . Members refused permission to ski on short skis.Cut off skis with binding and brakes, ground and sanded no sharp edges. This place needs help "looking for marketing exec".Should i make it an issue or let it slide pretty soon they will be dictating what brand i have to ride. Help:argue: Kids were refused access to lifts after liftie saw their skis and called the manager he determined they weren't safe ?? they were shortened alpine skis with binding and brakes ,ends were ground and sanded with no sharp surfaces. The snowshoers were walking the same path pedestrians walk to access the other chalet. The kids are alpine boarders and ex ski racers they participated the day before in a railjam. Should one question these decisions by the managment of a member owned club whose membership has gone from 6000 to under 3000 ? personally its nice to ride when its empty but if they keep chasing people away it might not be around to enjoy ?

  12. DR. D did you ever detune that front edge or are you saving it to carve up people in your way?? Bruce built a wicked toy with that one . saw him ripping the gates today at caledon he had tha advantage of last man through the gates he didn"t seem to ease off a bit. won the podium but didn't stay for the glory probably behind in his work!
