  1. Canadians love freaks!!! one more hero from the zero column. who knows maybe he will give our flamboyant PM a run for his money. While these guys are busy rebuilding the economy. I understand the BC economy is mostly import export of the agricultural variety which Ross has claimed noteriety for, i'll leave the politics to these experts and take advantage of the cheep lift passes and go ride my way out of this bad patch.

  2. Thanks for the report "csquared" had a great last day at blue they cheaped out and only ran one chair.Only one other hard booter out today got pretty tough by 2:30. Met a young guy from Michigan in soft boots claims he had never seen Alpine board before.Tried a quick intervention to convert don"t know if it will stick. He was on his holidays before heading off to army boot camp. Gave him a pair of comp lift passes i had he was hoping his dad would stay another day.Sorry i won't be there tomorrow would like to try other boards my 186 coiler was a handfull today. If anyone gets to try one of "Bruces Best" tomorrow offer up a run to that kid from Michigan hope he keeps his head down and gets to try hard booting on a coiler some day soon.:)

  3. WE failed engineers love to taunt the geeks and engineers it reveals a lot of a persons inner demons. With the recent debates raging isn't it too bad the season is comming to a close here in north america, while Bruce V is squeaking in a few more R&D runs this last weekend in Ontario I look forward to what is in store for next season .I hope he does't run out of mig wire before he can show off his next great creation.:D

  4. If you care to reread my posts I'm not claiming there is no math or engineering involved in board making .I'm saying i hope the emphasis is on the riding. For you to say i am trying to make someone look like an ignoramous sir is personally distastfull I have nothing but the utmost respect for Mr Vasarva and his ability to design and build snowboards. I ride a coiler and although it is not a custom board i would recommend one to all. Bruce Varsava is generous to a fault with his time , he has shown demonstrated and instructed kids on our local team. As well as responded to my requests for info on a used board. As far as my attempts at engineering I'm sorry if i never met you. Did you attend the same school as i? If you would care to reread DR. Varsavas' posts you will see that he does in fact use very simplistic layout techniques that are in fact extremely effective. As for your retort that he uses titinal I am aware of that fact and that he has very sofisticated protocal for its use.The fact that this thread generates such a response from you is interesting in itself but i also hope it also hasn't offended others i'm a big buy i can take it but i wish no disrespect to others.

  5. A single camber board will pressure the nose of the board as it is loaded carving a turn. Will a double camber board create a rocker effect on the nose since the flattening of the camber is acting as if on two fulcrum points causing the nose to rise???:confused:

  6. Don't worry about the sport the engineers and math profs will nevere get the upper hand as long as builders like bruce varsava has some mig wire and glue were all in good hands. refer to (20mscr post) I'd worry about people sitting here and talking about it rather than just doing it !!!!:AR15firin

  7. Thank you Bruce for clearing the air on your methodology i'm relieved that you don't spend all your time on solving complex formulas at the dusty chalk board but spread the fun around by having others involved in true on hill engineering.:D

  8. If i were Bruce Varsava i'd save his info for his masters thesis i think if he can illicit this much debate on this forum a room full of engineering profs.would wet themselves with what he had to tell them! Crank out those boards and keep them guessing .:AR15firin

  9. the air is -12 c looks like we might get another week of riding before last run I'f bruce v would like to answer the question of the air in his shop does it tend to be thicker with sawdust or chalk from the blackboards covered in math homework ? looking forward to all the scientists taking over the lead in snowboard design. Is a single radii board now as passe as double camber?
