  1. Copper Bowl was a blast! Thanks for the suggestion. Elle says hello to all the hardbooters from MN.
  2. I rode last night. Lots of pylons but they were standing around in little clumps for instruction. Plenty of room to carve. Snow was excellent.
  3. My son Joseph explains you should do a "hot scrap". After scraping the easy stuff, iron in a penetrating base prep wax over the entire base. Starting from the tip in five inches increments, heat the base with hot iron and scrape immediatly.
  4. Snow at Buck today was as good as it gets. They made snow again last night. Not many skiers. I had Olympic Dreams and the rope tow to myself until racers kicked me off at 9:30. Didn't see other hardbooters.
  5. Good luck Clay. Bones heal fast at your age.
  6. We were both on hero snow as the temps warmed the day before at Welch and Buck. This may be partly responsible for the clumsy first turns on harder snow Sunday morning. I still can't imagine the physics and board contortion that would leave untouched cord between the tip and tail on the same turn. Maybe it's a prelude to hovering.
  7. Very nice Greg. Check out #59. Looks like Doug is teaching Trent how to Hover.

Try Brent A. in Madison. I think he's planning to show up.
  9. Two of us will be riding Big Sky 12/27 - 1/1. If anyone is interested in showing us around we'd like the company. Joe will be in a blue Nidecker jacket and Doug in a bright orange jacket. Also, if anyone has ideas on where to find discounted lift tickets, it would be much appreciated.
  10. Unfortunately, if I ride, it probably needs to be Buck as my son Joseph is one of those dang USSA racers and I'm his caddy.
  11. There will be several hundred 10 - 18 year old ski racers at Buck this weekend with training runs open from 7:00 AM both days. Any one know who I might speak with to encourage management to groom our carving trails after the skiers gouge the cord with their training courses?
  12. I set the bindings last spring for Joseph. Can't remember the degrees but they're pretty conservative. The stepins work great but need to be lined up perfectly with no snow on heel or toe.
  13. I'll be there only until 11:00AM. Call me if you'd like to arrange boot and board test 612-805-7115.
  14. I'll be at Buck tomorrow. Will throw some gear in my truck. I'l be riding in a blue jacket, black helmet and yellow gloves.
  15. Bruce, There's plenty of used stuff around. I've got boards, bindings and boots (size 10 and one half) I'd sell real cheap. Contact me if you're interested in taking anything for a test drive. Joe D.

    Belch Village

Reading the competition schedule included in the G-Team newsletter this week I noted an Alpine snowboard race to be scheduled at Welch Village in December 2008. Is that possible?
  17. Thanks to all for joining us for what turned into a mini WTC. Thanks Dave and Billy from Hardbooter.com for the Prior demo and use of your tools and expertise. Thanks Jared for the video. Skully for setting it all up. And to the ten riders we shared the hill with last week. Joe and Brent
  18. We have a Gilboa Board meeting next Tuesday and I'd like to put it on the agenda.
  19. We will be riding Park City the afternoon of Thursday 4/10. Snow Basin all day 4/11 and Canyons 4/12. If anyone from the area would like to join us and show us around your mountains, we'd enjoy the company.
  20. Joseph did some trenchin' today for the first time. He and I will be at Buck in the AM tomorrow. He says he likes carving better than skiing groomers after the first experience on the F2. Bob D - - we borrowed your old Burton Boots from Karl's car trunk. Joseph would like to try them tomorrow. We hope it's OK by you. They seem to fit lika a glove.
  21. 20" new last 48 hours. Had to ride the tele skis last two days. Too soft for silver surfer. Today should be good carving on lower mtn. Exlnt base all over CO and UT. Should be good for Nat'ls at Copper in two weeks.
