  1. These pictures are the very reason I wear a full face helmet......................
  2. One breakthrough came when I finally took (more) weight off the board as it transitioned under me and the flow from side to side edging became a float....what a gas............

    Burton Alp 169

FOUND SELLER, PURCHASED 3/17/08 I posted two weeks ago a WTB Burton ALP. No hits, then saw this string, any 169 to 173 Alps out there for sale still?
  4. Prior WCR roundtale, what length?
  5. I really only looked into the thermo type offering from bomber and found that ordering through them, web or direct with my local shop that the $150 was going to end up being the price by the time I got hands-on a pair to my door step, and the local shop came in at the same price, and I got the added bonus of having them heat-em up and boot-em with me. I cannot speak to variations but assume that all "thermo" liners will be similiar. They all heat and form...right? Assume being the operative word here. I can tell you that my feet now feel great in a boot that otherwise seemed tight and not very comfortable. Maybe Bomber is best to ask about different variations on thermo-liners but I would spring the cash again if I have to in the future for the "Intuition" brand.
  6. Not up to speed on the WCR. I am really looking for and Prior 4WD. I ride a Burton Speed (race board) already and looking for something less stiff, damper. I am 200 lbs, any idea what this board will accomodate for a rider? Also, it looks like pure race board, or is the tail turned up at all? Still interested as it could fit well with the hills I go to.
  7. Spirit Mtn probably to shut down after the last weekend in March so anyone heading up to take advantage of one of the longer runs in the State that fits well for carvers (or want-to-be pretenders like me) should make the trip. Great to see the number of carvers truly increasing in our neck of the woods and meeting "Scuff" and watching him on his F2 was a pleasure. Post here if you are coming up over the next three weekends. Russ is quite the obi-wan of carving (one with the board) in the area and he or I are usually out each weekend.
  8. I do not have anything to sell but have info. I picked up a pair of good used 123's but the liners were splitting and my wide foot did not work well inside the boot with those liners. I secured through a local ski/board shop a pair of "Intuition" thermoform liners and they are awesome. They are not bargain cheap at around $150 but the price was about the same either on-line or through the shop that formed them for me on location with their resident boot doc. Not sure what the budget is but if the outer boot is solid, the investment on new liners is worth it.
  9. FOUND SELLER, PURCHASED 3/17/08 Want to buy - Looking for priced right, treated right, 169 Burton Alp for shipping in US. Please provide a few pic's and your price to my email.
  10. Good info for a guy who learned and stayed at 17.5 on Burton Speed. Will slowly push it out to 19.5 as that would seem good for me at 5'8". Anyone's thoughts on front to back centering as you push out the stance or simply keep it centered on past comfortable offset I've used.
  11. Ok, hearing alot about you undernourished guys at 160 lbs. I am 5'8" , and a solid 200 lbs. Been riding a 160 Burton Speed for years and looking to move up. Made attempt at an Oxygen APX 165 on EBAY but was blown away by what it went for. Help a square body out, if I have the lingo right, looking for a damper board that carves at lower speeds. What's are best options in that 165 to 173 range.
  12. From the last reply ... I will take that advice and cautiously solicit for Head..Boots...28 to 28.5
  13. Man, this blog really churns out quick response. I have been drilling down in to past references and it looks like from numerous postings that Head is the way to go.
  14. Thanks, good to know someone has had success in altering boots. Still looking for any info on brands better fitted to wide body feet.
  15. Who can tell me what hardboot brand or make is best for those of us with wide feet. Have picked up used Raichle 28.5 which is perfect in length but squeezes width in a BIG way. Any help here or has anyone actually succeeded in having boots punched out?
  16. Please advise if Boots still available as of Jan 15 2008
