  1. The gates were set between 14-15 meters. Which is the max distance. The offset was meant to challenge the top level riders, and keep the speed down for the little ones. Most of the little ones had no problems with the course at all. The higher level riders were unwilling to change their traditional line and tactics and as a result had issues with the course. It's funny the coaches really liked it, because it was a challenge for the higher guys there, but still ran great for the little ones. The ones who looked at it as a challenge and will use it to make their riding better see the benifits. The ones who make excuses.......well they will always be making excuses.
  2. Gotta go with Curtis Bacca, with the Wax Room in Sun Valley, ID. If he is good enough for many Olympic medalist, then he is good enough for everyone here.
  3. Congrats to Matt Carter. That kid rips, it was only a matter of time until he won one.

    Lindsay Lloyd

Right now there really is no front runner. Tyler is the top guy points wise. Vic Wild has the best World Cup result this year, but it's a PSL result and dosen't really count towards the Olympics. Because the IOC has set a maximum number of guys a country can take the US will probably be taking 2 guys. The max number is 10 (with a max of 4 per disipline). So we will take 4 male HPers, 4 male SBXers, and 2 male Pgser. If the PGSers do better on the world cup then the SBXers those numbers may switch to 3 and 3, but the way the SBXers are riding they will be tough to beat.

    Lindsay Lloyd

Just making an announcement that today Lindsay Lloyd secured her spot on the World Cup for the Qualifing events for the Olympics. This is huge for her and shows that with hard work you can make your dreams become reality. For those following the US Snowboarding drama. Lindsay is the current PGS National Champion. A few weeks after winning the National Championships she was informed that US Snowboarding has to make some budget cuts and she is now no longer on the US Snowboard Team. Instead of sulking she went to work and worked harder than she has ever worked before. Her work is paying off and she is riding faster than she ever has. Right now the females only have 2 World Cup spots. The US will take at least one of these two ladies to the Olympics. If the second lady can prove that she is a medal contender the US may decide to take both.
  6. An easy wax system is to use Swix FX Universal, mixed with Swix Moly Flouro. It will run well enough in pretty much anything, except super cold temps. Then you need some CH4 or LF4
  7. That's nice. In the SLC 2002 guide they had a description of the PGS, and the format was explained wrong, and they had a pic of equipment used, but the bindings were mounted facing the tail. Pretty lame.
  8. Store the boards with a softer wax on them. Use a sharp scraper, or if you don't have a means to sharpen the one you have buy a new one. Scrape in one direction, not back and forth.
  9. There will actually be two World Cup PGS events at Telluride one on the 15th and one on the 17th. The one on the 15th will be a make up event for the cancelled event in Limone.
  10. Yeah some companies measure the angle of the tool. Others measure the angle it puts on the edge. They are both a one degree and a two degree.
  11. I can't beleive you guys! There are countless thread here about getting snowboard racing and alpine snowboarding more noticed. People are constantly saying how unfair it is that the top level racers in North America are under-funded and under-supported. Here is your chance to vote for an alpine rider/racer in a mainstream media outlet. Something that is good for the sport and it could generate more sponsers and funding for the athlete and you guys are not voting for her!!! LAME.
  12. But when it does get rescheduled it will be after the 9th, which is when the new FIS points list will come out. So those who were able to go to Limone, may not be able to go to the rescheduled event. Things get real twisted in Olympic years.
  13. Vote here: http://www.sportsnet.ca/hottest/2009/11/26/hottest_poll/# Vote for Kimi!!!
  14. That changes things quite a bit for the US ladies trying to qualify for the Olympics.
  15. It's an IOC thing.....At least they increased the max quota spots this time around. Last Olympics it was 16 was the max.

    Phiokka parts

One of my athletes used to ride Phiokka's. He may be interested in selling them. Let me know if you are interested in a used pair.
  19. Is this Billy's fault or the fault of the director and board of the team for not securing a contract with a coach/sub-contracted employee in a timely manner? If the people in charge of the team can't pull things together to secure coaching sub-contractors more than two weeks before training starts, don't blame the coach blame the person who's job it is to get contracts to the coaches and make sure the athletes are taken care of.
  20. No question you have an edge on me in regard to indoor snowboarding experience. And I don't see myself catching up anytime in the near future. I was just giving my thoughts on the subject.
  21. The biggest challeng indoors is getting enough speed to make a decent turn. Most places are so short and flat that getting up to speed is difficult. Other than that it's the same. It's man-made snow after all, just like riding a short flat hill on the east coast where they have to make all their snow....except indoors the snow is usually an off white/dirt color because it is usually pretty old.
  22. Cool! Those damn reporters can't get anything right though. The Netherlands PSL was not an Olympic Qualifier
  23. Back to say again, if you want the best carving softboot board, look at what is winning World Cup SBX events. Kessler, Oxess, and SG. Many of the riders on the World Cup have to purchase their own boards. They are going to buy the boards that allow them to win.
  24. We arrive on the 5th and start riding/training on the 6th. I emailed Karl and he seemed to imply that your crew was all set up for coaching and training. Let me know if Pat needs any help while at Copper.
  25. Han's is from The Netherlands, my guess is that he took it himself.
