  1. I'm interested - Send me some more pics. JLehman@Columbus dot rr dot com Thanks, Jeff
  2. New Donek just arrived last week! I think the boards look good next to the bar! Can't wait to ride the Donek!
  3. Thanks for all of the tips, I really apprecaite it. I have searched the forum for similar questions regarding knee pain when sitting or kneeling so I want everyone to know that I did do that first! I will try canting and stance width next to see if that solves the problem. I am just very concerned with the stress I feel in a controlled environment and how uncontrolled a wipe can be. I'll keep tweeking to see if any of your advice will help. I beginning to think that there is a magical setup for me that won't cause pain. Both of my arches in my feet are very high and my ankles roll out not in, so the suggestions posted earlier realted to supination really hit home. I'll try those next and see what happens. The one thing that I couldn't find in the forum was followup posts from the indiviudals experiencing the same thing to say that they found the right setup to elminiate said pain. Thanks, and I'm all ears from any other riders who have supinated ankles (which I'm sure translates to my knees).
  4. I can't seem to find any binding angles that will fit on my RT with a 19cm waist without causing some rear knee pain. I feel great while standing, but if I sit down or kneel down while strapped into my boots and clipped into the bindings, my rear knee feels like its fighting everything else and I want to clip out immediately. I've never had any rear knee pain on my softboot setup with angles up around 35/30. My concern is that this is my first season in hardboots and I'm certain that any wipe outs or spills will put me in a sitting or kneeling position and in not such a gentle way! I don't want to blow out my rear knee on my first run. I know what some of you are saying - DON'T FALL. But that isn't realistic for my first season. I'm beginning to wonder if my knees / legs just aren't built for the high angles, or is there some canting that I should try to get into a comfortable position. Does anyone else experience knee pain (twisting pressure) when sitting or kneeling while clipped in? Am I overworried about this issue or should I have this worked out before taking the new setup to the slopes? Thanks!
  5. Ok, so the storage wax will be coming off the boards soon and I make a huge mess every year because the wax always seems to get electrically charged and stick to the scraper or everything but the trash can! Have you dealt with this and what can I do to control the crazy wax shavings! If I'm the only one, I'll be shocked. I'm even thinking about taking the wax off outside this time because of all the wax I got on the basement floor the past few years. Any tricks / tips?
  6. Hello Everyone, I was wondering if anyone could share their expertise on Edge Setups and the pros/cons of the edge/bevel setups that are common today. My first alpine board shipped with the standard 90 degree edge angles and I wondered if I should have them tuned to something other than 90 degrees before the season kicks in here on the east coast in a month or so. Thanks!
  7. Good stuff guys, thanks. I'm so impressed with this community of riders. I frequent the board and enjoy reading about the techniques and technical advance of the sport. You guys really support each other, I'm surprised this sport hasn't taken over a larger share fo the market.
  8. Blue, Thanks! I've been running the start of an alpine stance the last few seasons, 40 up front, and 35 in back. I don't ride switch at all so I've found it more comfortable to have my legs pointing downhill. I know 65, 60 is going to really press the issue, huh.
  9. corey- Yes, I've read the Norm articles, good stuff and I can relate to the feeling they describe on edge. I can push the rossi to the limit of its edge but I'm in soft boots, Northwave Concepts. I'm hoping that I can scrub speed on the volkl when I want to, then it won't be so bad. Knowing that you have the same board, I have a question. how is the turning radius? Can you make a tight turn at will, or is it a rather large turn, just curious about the 12.5 sidecut.
  10. Ok, so this will be my first season as a hardbooter. I've spent the last 10 years jealous of the graceful turns and trenches laid down by the few alpine boarders I encounter here on the east coast. So, my question and request for advice: Should I mount my new plate bindings to my Rossi 163 Scope, all mountain board to start. Or strap into the new 178 volkl RennTiger GS board? Any suggestions? I purchased all my new hardbooting gear at the end of last season, UPZ RTR boots, Snowpro plate bindings, and the volkl. Any thoughts? Jump right into the Race deck, or get my self situated on the all mountain board with hardboots first? I know I won't be able to scrub speed so easliy on the Volkl, like I'm able to do when things get a little too fast on the Rossi all mountain!
  11. How many of you guys wear a hat or a beanie under your helmet? Just curious. I personally can't fit a hat, my hemet doesn't feel right.
  12. I'm interested in the bindings. E-mail sent!
  13. Thanks guys, final question. Do the sizes run true with the RTR's? My left foot measures in at 26.8 and my right foot at 27.3 I'm planning on ordering a mondo 27. correct move? I fully realize that everyone's feet are different and that any comments to the above question are just personal experience related to their own fit and feel. Nevertheless, I would still like to hear what you guys think. I value the opions here! Thanks!
  14. I'm probably going to pick up a pair of UPZ RTR's and wondered if anyone can tell me if there are any problems using them with TD2 bindings? I've read a few threads about problems with UPZ boots and the TD1's and I want to be sure I won't have any trouble before I lay down the cash. Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks!
  15. E-mail sent, interested in the bindings! Thanks.
