  1. A 158 was my only board up until this season, so I only recently have had any basis for comparison, but it's definitely an unforgiving board until you get a feel for it. Mine has sent me into the woods on more than one occasion. I think I still prefer its liveliness over my new acquisitions, but it's brutal to put more than a few hours on it.

  2. Caught up with Brad (@bc1?) and another Dave for a few runs this morning. We hiked up to the top of Piece of Cake for some private turns on a busy morning! Good to get out of my groove. Feel like I've been on auto with my riding lately.

Probably coincidence.  Bumped into David on Sunday morning, we met a year ago at Wachusett.

Ahhh, yup different David. I usually go by Dave, anyway. Upgrading my bronze pass to unlimited for the rest of the season tomorrow, so hopefully I’ll see some of you all up there on Saturday/Sunday mornings!

Does that mean they will accommodate liners in sizes 28, 29, or 30?

Tongues and upper cuffs on Raichle/Deeluxe boots fit a wide range of sizes, but the lowers are sized for a single mondo point. Size should be stamped inside the boot lower as well.

It seems plastic alpine boots basically never die

I thought that too until I cracked my old 224s in half earlier this season... Plastic definitely gets brittle when it gets old.

There seems to be a tendency to shit on the TD series bindings (Bomber)

Not to derail the topic, but why is that? Were they lauded in the past just because the forum was hosted by Bomber? Or has thinking about bindings changed a lot on the past few years?

If you know how to do it or are comfortable with newbies giving it a go, come on over!

Thanks for the offer! Think I'm just going to snag ibrussell's 325s, stick my old liners in them and call it good for the week.

they do not have the ability to mold liners at the Turner ski shop.

Got it. Thanks for looking into it!

So I have a set of Head Pro Stratos in 25.5

Thanks for the offer. Think I'm going to stick to the Raichle/Deeluxe world for now. I'd prefer a more known quantity if I'm going to fly out without boots.

If you need to ship new boots to Libby, you can have them shipped to my parents place there and I can get them to you Sunday evening before the event.

Thanks! Is there anywhere in Libby to get liners molded?

I have a set of 325's sole 277  You would have to change out non step in heal They have moldable liners but if you bring your liners to make them feel just like your old ones  Showing up in Libby Sunday afternoon

Definitely sounds like it could work. Deeluxe Track 325s? Or older Raichle 325s? How much would you want for them?

I may have a 25-25.5 and will be going to MCC.

May be either Head or Deeluxe. I will check when I get home and let you know.

    ink

Thanks, let me know what you turn up!

  10. Thanks for the quick replies everyone. I definitely understand that these need to be retired, was just vaguely hoping I could make it through MCC without scrambling to find new boots.

Thanks for the offer, @Kneel. Just double checked the shell size, they're actually a 25-25.5, with a 26 liner stuffed into them. 28's probably going to be much too big.
