  1. I had the same experience when I moved from my native New Orleans to California. They almost pissed themselves when I asked about a go-cup...lol. I didn't know you were from the city Michelle. Nice to know, I'm headed down to see my grandma this week. Now I live in a state with ABC stores and all that, but it doesn't bother me cause I no longer imbibe.
  2. Lol, no but seriously, I'd add a piece of lexan or something and put my softies on it and ride the snot out of it. Hope you come up with a replacement for it. I love the board for all around, and have even taught beginner lessons on it on pow days so i could hit freshie runs in between lineups.
  3. Winterplace West Virginia, 9 am - 10 pm m-f, 8 am-10 pm s+s Booyahh! most weekends dead till 10 am at least:biggthump
  4. I teach at a resort in southern WV dave, and yes I'm AASI and PSIA certified:eplus2:, and we have had over 160 inches on the season, with many days over a foot! Never thought I'd see a waist deep blower day here, but I have, and I never needed the duct tape. We see alot of camo and jeans down here, but usually our boots are in good repair. I'm glad to have worked this season down south. Granted, I've been chest deep in christmas tree bowl in steamboat, but we have the goods for this season, so pipe down there! ;)
  5. I have a pair of mp27-27.5 boots with a 27.5 liner. Boots look to be in excellent shape with no cracks or defects. (got em used with a board and bindings and they are wayyy to bid.) $45 plus actual shipping.
  6. Seriously! :AR15firin:AR15firin You are such an enlightened fellow aren't you? D-bag. Ignored. On another note: OP, glad u had fun.
  7. +1 no but seriously, i'd love to make it but i'm getting married in stowe on 3/20/10
  8. Last time I was there was for my 30th b-day, March 2008. 1st 2 days warmish but not worse than east coast spring, then 3 days of straight up powder. Rode my 3800 in waist deep in christmas tree bowl, dropped a small cliff into chest high pow. Awesome. Last two days, amazing groom, got my girl snowboard lessons. I wanted to move to steamboat after that trip, but we are moving to vt in 2 years instead.
  9. I have broken both clavicles, rt one as a child, and rt and left as an adult, both with serious separation of the broken ends. Torn rotator cuff in rt shoulder along with ruptured bursa, stretched labrum, and huge freaking bone spur. surgically repaired. left shoulder separated 2x and dislocated once. As the proud owner of 2 screwed up shoulders, I can definitely say that an a/c separation of type 1(minor) is the least painful injury that I've had, and the easiest rehab I've experienced. I wish on you a type 1 at most.
  10. I was working on some things one of our level 2 instructors taught me in between classes, dug my nose in really hard and I landed right on my shoulder and head, thank you Bern helmet, have seen the xrays again and i have not broken it in 2 places, i have basically crushed the middle of the bone into many chunks:eek: There is no pin or operation for my type of break according to the surgeon i saw but if I work really hard at healing i may be able to make a trip to Colorado after the southeast season is over... anyone got a free couch? I'll be fine, the pain is nothing that i cant handle, even without the use of narcotics! I'm taking my calcium supplements, eating right, and I hope that my 3 week xrays show some healing.
  11. me, not the board.... Broke my left clavicle in 2 places on monday, no more snowboarding for the rest of our really short season, which means no teaching, which means, no $$$$. I'm gonna stick around and work in group sales and maybe set skiis and stuff, in hopes that i will at least be able to instruct on my skiis, albeit without poles in a couple weeks. just wanted to feel sorry for myself for a bit:(, the upside is though, that we've been getting lots of new snow, so go get some for me eh?
  12. havent seen my house since christmas, miss my dogs and my sweetie, i'll be back tuesday, which is also family night, free lifties for my friends, shoot me a pm by monday if u wanna come, i'll send details
  13. and i'll be at the campout mellow, so TICK bring the extra board man! i'll try to remember to pack my boots:eplus2: so stoked to get off the molehill and hit the mountain, i know my legs are in shape for it this time:biggthump
  14. granted it rained this afternoon, but they've laid down a monster base. No one on the slopes. but thursday we have a 50 person group... for less than half our slopes. yikes, come by for a visit when any of y'all get a wild hair.
  15. way to go mellow, if you hadn't posted your rockstar photo of the day I would have! UM, yes jack thats right! not only did one of our hills open before halloween, but since then I have had 7 days on the slopes including 2 powder days at snowshoe 12 and 16 inches respectively. And I live in Raleigh North Carolina! 4+ hrs from the nearest slope. I have been thanking Ullr so far for making my first season as an instructor a great one.:D
  16. i havent had a HB board for a few years, as i got too fat for my last one and gave it away, happens when a girl approaches thirty i'm told. i think it happened when i got promoted to a desk job at UPS, but anyway i quit that job (for MANY reasons) and will be instructing full time, so i'm betting i'll be back to fighting weight soon. Thanks Tick, i'd love to borrow some gear. Heck I'll even "rent" it from you. I have my old boots and even a set of old snowpros that i threw on my osin 3800 for a few runs last year, but i really prefer to use my softies on that board, i'm afraid i'll crank it too hard and bust my powder ride. DrCR I have HB at WP only one time, i actually liked to take compromise to either snowbowl or drop off, I like carving on steeper stuff as long as the place is pretty empty, and if you want to see empty try WP any weekday, lol.
  17. those are my picks for the snowshoe side as well. granted i'm still alpine boardless and broke, but gimme a few weeks of instructing at winterplace and i'll meet y'all up at the shoe, i've got several free weekday lifties, and a discount on day passes as well.
  18. I have an older (2000ish) 148 burton custom with burton custom bindings, its in excellent condition, so ggod infact that i was going to teach on it this year, but i could definitely part with it for someone who needs a new setup I also have an old rossi pipe board, the alexi litovaara pro model, that i used for some racing. its a 153 sort of a beater, but cheap. on that one i would have to scrounge for some bindings, i think i have a set of usable liquid bindings, or a 4 hole disk for the old customs both solid setups, either one for under $150 plus shipping
  19. whats her weight and boot size? ive got about 6 softie boards and 5 or six sets of bindings, even boots if she fits, for under $200 shipped i'm sure depending on what she wants.
  20. welcome back mang, just in time for the slopes to open
  21. i'll be at winterplace for my preseason meeting, debating on hitting up the shoe on fri for $29 lifties
