  1. When I was there a few weeks ago, my firsts ride up the lift was with one of the ski patrols. He indicated that they'll often open lifts about 15-20 minutes earlier than 8am once the lift operators are settled. Not sure if that will hold true for tomorrow due to the weather, but I plan to be there very early to see if he was right.
  2. Wish I could go tonight - I'm stuck in Boston for a while though. Ed, do you want me to bring up the board too? I don't have any extra bindings or I'd throw a set on for you.
  3. I'll be in a dark grey jacket and light grey pants, red boots. Usually run across everyone at the lift - the quad that only goes part way to the top on the right.
  4. Can you post a pic? Also, whats a good weight range for this board - is it very stiff?
  5. Looks like I'll definitely be there in the morning unless its really raining/sleeting hard. Ed, don't forget to bring my boots if you can go.
  6. I might be there early Saturday or Sunday depending on conditions. Saturday might actually be the better day if its still snowing/sleeting - it'll clear out the kids. Ed, my UPZ's will probably fit you if you want to give them a run - I'll bring the Lizard too.
  7. Well if the weather continues the way they say, maybe I should bring a surf board Saturday. I don't have any snow on my lawn which isn't a good sign. Anyone been to wawa the past couple days who could report on the conditions?
  8. I'm going to give my back the rest of this week but I hope to be back this weekend. Anyone going to be around? As for Nashoba vs wawa - Nashoba isn't what I'd call a worthwhile ride - by the time you actually connect 2 turns together, you're at the lift already. Wawa at least lets you get a few connected before getting to the base, and it has some pretty decent runs.
  9. Can you list some pricing on the above?
  10. Didn't get any email - send it to: dcteague@comcast.net Thanks, Daniel
  11. I can't find much on it, but the other board they made with a similar length has the following specs: length 163 <TABLE style="WIDTH: 98pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=130 border=0 x:str><COLGROUP><COL style="WIDTH: 39pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 1901" width=52><COL style="WIDTH: 59pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 2852" width=78><TBODY><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl25 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #c1ccd9; BORDER-TOP: #c1ccd9; BORDER-LEFT: #c1ccd9; WIDTH: 39pt; BORDER-BOTTOM: #c1ccd9; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=52 height=17>edge</TD><TD class=xl24 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #c1ccd9; BORDER-TOP: #c1ccd9; BORDER-LEFT: #c1ccd9; WIDTH: 59pt; BORDER-BOTTOM: #c1ccd9; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=78 x:num>1430</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl25 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #c1ccd9; BORDER-TOP: #c1ccd9; BORDER-LEFT: #c1ccd9; BORDER-BOTTOM: #c1ccd9; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" height=17>width</TD><TD class=xl24 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #c1ccd9; BORDER-TOP: #c1ccd9; BORDER-LEFT: #c1ccd9; BORDER-BOTTOM: #c1ccd9; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent">260/205/260</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl25 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #c1ccd9; BORDER-TOP: #c1ccd9; BORDER-LEFT: #c1ccd9; BORDER-BOTTOM: #c1ccd9; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" height=17>sidecut</TD><TD class=xl24 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #c1ccd9; BORDER-TOP: #c1ccd9; BORDER-LEFT: #c1ccd9; BORDER-BOTTOM: #c1ccd9; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" x:num>9.3</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl25 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #c1ccd9; BORDER-TOP: #c1ccd9; BORDER-LEFT: #c1ccd9; BORDER-BOTTOM: #c1ccd9; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" height=17>stance</TD><TD class=xl24 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #c1ccd9; BORDER-TOP: #c1ccd9; BORDER-LEFT: #c1ccd9; BORDER-BOTTOM: #c1ccd9; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent">38-49</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> I can probably measure some of this to see how close it is. I saw someone comparing the Lizard stiffness to his Madd and he indicated they're pretty close. Someone also indicated that at 220lbs it was too much for the board.
  12. How stiff is the Nidecker and what's the recommended weight?
  13. I'm thinking I'll be out next weekend (17th) if anyone wants to give wawa a good morning run until around noon. Ed, I'll bring the Heavy Metals board for you. I found the original specs on my old Nitro and its a free-ride carve board - soft - with a max weight of 165lbs so I'm not surprised its never thrown me like the Heavy Metals did. I'm going to try and find something similar as a replacement - not sure how long its going last. I might see if I can find a used Madd for next season with similar specs. The Madd 159 F2 Free Ride/Free Style looks good.
  14. Wow, I'm right on the weight limit of this board - but I love the way it rides. I'm nowhere near aggressive riding levels so maybe I'm just not pushing it hard enough to tell its reached its weight limits.
  15. I've been searching around for some board specs since I really like my current board but don't know much about it - I'd like to upgrade to something newer but keep the specs somewhat close. Does anyone know where I might be able to find the specs on a Nitro Range 157 board? Its old - at least 7 years.
  16. Well I decided to take off today and get things checked out. Nothing major, but I've apparently brused/aggrevated all the nerves that exit your ass right where your spine and pelvis meet. Doc indicated it'd likely be 5-6 weeks before it feels normal. Luckily he said I'd only be really sore if I fell on it again, no worries about bones so I'll likely give it a couple weeks and get back to things. Ed, I'll likely go to wawa after a 3 week stint at home so I'll swap you for the boots and board. Just hope you have better luck on it than I did.
  17. I don't think that logic works very well in determining which riders are more technical or not. I would however think that a Meyer's Briggs test would do this. I'm much more of a "feel" rider than a technical one, but I'm goofy, and my testing suggests the same.
  18. I'm f&%$kin as sore as I've ever been - I feel like I have one giant charlie horse up to my mid-back. Its pretty bad - hopefully it'll mellon out by next weekend - but I know tomorrow is off for sure. I'm mounting my old bindings back on the Nitro for the next outing. Want to give my new board a run? I'll grab the boots next time we're up at wawa - couple weeks if you're going north next weekend. Thanks for the pointers today - maybe on my softer board I'll be able to put some of them to use.
  19. Anyone been up to Ragged? I know they've scaled back operations but it seems that might actually make it a pretty uncrowded place. Also, how's Crotched Mountain? I'm thinking of taking some day trips up over the coming weeks before everything melts.
  20. Should I leave the 27 liners in?
  21. I noticed this in the events calendar and was wondering if anyone was going to post about a gathering. I might be up for the travel to Bromley - I'll keep an eye on the VT threads.
  22. Which ones? I have an old set of MGX and the Burton Earth. The MGX are past their prime and into the stage of parts, but the Earth shells are very good. The liner is too small for me - size 27. I've used a set of ski boot liners that are 27.5 and they fit very nicely. Let me know and I'll bring either or both.
  23. Sorry to hear about all the crowds - and the falls. Last Saturday was my first at the slopes by 8am, and what a difference it made. They were practically empty until around 10:30. Then it all went to hell. I'll be there Saturday at the same time, and will try to catch you on a night sometime.
  24. I'm Daniel - I met you last Saturday when I was chasing my 6 year old all over the mountain - you're Ed right?
  25. They do grow too fast. I'm going to try and get there on Sat by 8 - 8:15 to get some good clear slopes in before the masses arrive.
