  1. Bump for a great board. It's going to snow soon.
  2. You should post this on Epicski or TGR. The former if you want lots of opinions, the latter if you like to be called a jong.
  3. That was the winter I learned to ride in France. On basically the same gear. 185 pointy, swallow tail board with Sorel Snow Bear boots and little plastic "bindings" that had no high backs or any real support. It was a good snow year.
  4. This thread needs some good pictures to highlight the stuff you guys are talking about. Cool reviews though, thanks.
  5. There's a really good thread about those boots on epicski.com. A couple friends have bought them. I'd like to see them make an AT boot. They'll never ever come to hard snowboard boots. There's hardly a big enough market to support the meager, un-updated group of manufacturers we have. No way they re-tool for a market they barely know, but know is small. Not saying they wouldn't be great. Just not going to happen.
  6. Dang that thing is purdy. If you get epoxy, get the stuff that takes 24 hours to cure. Not the quick stuff. The longer the cure, the more it stays flexible with use. And keep it warm when it is curing (inside the house, not out in the garage).
  7. Yes. And if you're a new rider, it's going to be a while before you're really generating high edge angles/board angles when riding. You can afford to have some toe/heel overhang without worrying about booting out. When/if you start to eurocarve, then you'll need to think about increasing angles or getting a fatter board.
  8. I like the Smith Sensor lenses well enough. But the best low light lens I've used was the Oakley HI series. HI Yellow or HI Blue (and I think there's an amber one) are amazing. I currently have Smiths plus a pair of Zeal photochromic ones. I wear both, but I think the Oakleys were better. Oakleys were so good that they were too bright to wear if the sun came out.
  9. Colors say late 80's early 90's. Can't see the brand. If it fits, for $25 how can you go wrong?
  10. No worries. I got a couple email inquiries, but haven't heard back from anyone. Lowballers should email someone else. I'm not really interested in trades - just need some money and need to lighten the quiver. Plus I know I'm going to want to buy some freakin sidewinder step ins if Fin ever gets them built this season. So, bump and still available. As is my sweet SG 185 race board.
  11. Bump for some of the best ski/board pants ever made. I've had a pair for over 200 days of hard on-hill riding and work. I sent them back to Arcteryx this summer because the side zips started to fail a little right where my knee braces stick out. They replaced the zips free and patched a bunch of wear spots and tiny tears (charged me $25 to do all the patching). I'll get another 60 days out of them this season and then decide whether to buy another pair or keep 'em going.
  12. Yeah, but it looks like the safety is on.
  13. That thing should be entertaining on east coast conditions. I see them around here once in a while. I love the cheese slicer tail. Definite novelty factor.
  14. Not sure on the date. I think around '03. The earlier ones had the black and yellow tiger/bumblebee look.
  15. No old boots, sorry. But this board is still waiting for it's new owner to step up. You know you want this thing. Fast and fun.
  16. SOLD $175 picked up in the Bay Area or Tahoe, or $200 shipped to lower 48. This board has very few days on it. I used it only for races and then only for SL races. Maybe 20 days total. Base is excellent and covered in storage wax right now. Topsheet has a couple of scuffs and one tiny nick that I've highlighted in a picture below. This is a great board, lots of camber, really stable and snappy.

  18. I have a 163 Volkl Renntiger SL in near perfect condition if you're interested. No problem shipping to Canada via usps. Usually takes about a week to get there.
  19. So has anyone here received or sent money with this system yet? I'm hesitant to input my bank account info until I know it's been used by others safely. I use Paypal a lot. Mostly in transactions with other forum users. And I will sometimes ask them to send the money as a 'gift' to avoid the fees. Other times I just take the money and pay the fee. With eBay I don't have any choice but to pay the fees. When I sell something that costs $1000, the 3% actually starts to make a difference. I suppose it makes a difference all the time, you just notice it more when the figure climbs above some threshold like $10.
  20. OK Fin. Those soft boot things are off at the anodizers. So now you're working hard on SW SI's, right? Puleeze.
  21. Dave, who is that hottie with you and does your wife know?
  22. jp, I think Tognar or Slidewright or somebody like that sells similar gear if you're still trying to track some down.
