  1. I will take the 2nd board kit with both 3 degree cants. Please email me at fishonnw@aol.com to set up payment I assume through paypal. Thanks, Shane
  2. I don't know you, but the picture on the beach looks good. All I have to say is thats Coos Bay style (Time Smith quote). Hope to ride with you sometime. Shane
  3. I don't know how to change the profile. Computers and forums are not my thing. I just learned how to post a picture when I sold a pair of boots. I looked around the other day on how to change profile with no success. That is the gear I first had when I got back into it 2 winters ago, I guess my equipment has progressed somewhat. Any suggestions please let me know. Talk to you soon, Shane
  4. To all you OES people and others I ordered my Diablo Composites board. It will be the 188 BX but stiffer than the one everyone liked so much at OES, but softer than the stiff one that I rode. The board should be in my hands in about three weeks. I look forward to giving a report on the new ride, which I would consider will be my all mountain board.
  5. Thanks, the boots have been sold.
  6. Used 26 non-thermo liners. Email shanetgroshong@yahoo.com. $150 shipped to lower 48 only.
  7. Towers, Thanks for explaining the setup. Colintkemp, Hangles and I believe the Gerab virtually eliminate any twist on the board. What I noticed is that when you are in the lift line with a standard binding to board set-up you can slightly twist the board when your foot is in the front binding and you lift on your toe or heel. The board with twist torsionally. With the hangle/gerab setup the twist is almost all removed. So transfer that to riding when you are pusing hard. It is hard to notice a difference until you ride with a plate setup and go to a standard board/binding setup. I rode mine for three days on nice groomers ( Kessler w/hangle). My next day back was two-three of new and chopped up when I got to the Mt. I rode a donek axxess 182 which I think is a great board, however it felt very twisty and torsionally not what I wanted anymore after riding hangles. Granted I am a 225-230 lbs. I think if you are big Hangles or Gerabs might be a great addition to some boards for a better riding performance. Shane
  8. My hangles came on a kessler. After riding the board with hangles and then riding other boards without you realize what torsional stiffness is all about.
  9. Do the plates use there own set of holes to mount to the board, and then the binding mount on top? Or do you use longer screws to mount the bindings through the plate to the board? I ask because I just got some hangles, but the boards need to be inserted on the sides of the board to accomadate the hangle. This looks like to ticket. Thanks for your input. Shane
  10. I rode the stiff 188 Diablo BX. I am a 6'1" 225-230lb beer drinker. I rode the board in the afternoon after 4in of morning powder, and pretty roughed up conditions. The board is super stiff and it seemed to be too much board for the conditions, however I left my bindings on and rode it the next morning on some pretty firm snow. Here is my conclusion: It carved and held an edge equal to many of my stiffer carving boards while having a bx shape. It also turned surprisingly sharp for a board that is super stiff and has a 14.5m sidecut. After one run I felt comfortable on the board, and rode it with much confidence my run after. The board was super solid and had great edge hold with absolutely no vibration. I am very excited to ride Diablo race boards. They seem very solid and super positive. I hope to ride the other 188 in the softer flex. Shane
  11. Thanks everyone for the great four days. I look forward to this each year, and OES 08 did not let me down. Better than I wished for. The riding was great and the sessions at the bar were just as good. The pitchers all went down well, and the rumplestiltskins were the best. Thanks again to Mike, Bonnie, Buell, & Rebecca. Bonnie thanks for wrapping Jenny up some cake last night. I am tired, but I am so stoked I think I am going Monday morning for a few laps. Thanks again, Shane
  12. Okay got a kessler with the hangle. Mounted the bindings at my stance (20.25 in) and the TD2 base plates hang slightly longer than front and back hangle binding plate by about (.5 in). I think that this is okay but centered seems better. Does it change the flex of the board considerably when moving the hangles forward on front and back on rear foot to get the TD2 centered on the plate? Thanks for any help people can offer. This is a totally new set-up for me. Somewhat concerned because of the metal board and characteristics of denting, however I realize the hangle alleviates most of the stresses.
  13. I know this is redundant, but no way. I used to ride when all we had were the emery's and snowpro's and the bails would break a bunch, and have broke some new generations bindings. Going hard and having a foot come out at high speed is TROUBLE. If the releasable binding comes back there will be no sales at the Groshong household.
  14. Are many of you bringing boards and gear to sell at OES? I will have a couple boards and some 26 indy boots. I look forward to the event, and getting to ride with everyone. Shane
  15. Talk to Bryan tonight, and I took the Kessler.
  16. Hey I have some 26.5 indys the red ones that are to small for me. I would be happy to trade you. My do have liners, but they are completely shot. So really it is just shells. I can mail to you. Email me at shanetgroshong@yahoo.com Thanks, Shane
  17. I will take them. Please let me know where to paypal. My email address is fishonnw@aol.com, or shanetgroshong@yahoo.com. Thanks, Shane
  18. My question is at 225-230lbs are we losing some of the advantages of metal? It seems the people that rave about these boards are the lighter riders in general. On conventional boards the light rider would get a noodle board if the length got too long, and the dampness of the board would be lost. Bigger riders have the advantage of riding stiffer boards in general and the damp factor is not of such concern. I will say I have not rode one of the new metal boards. This is just a thought. I have a tinkler 185 and stiff and I believe it is very damp. So let's here your opinions. I have heard Bobdea is a big guy who loves the prior metals, and from what I have read you love the metals. Again just a thought to the advantages of metal.
  19. I believe I have read all the posts regarding the boots in comparison, but it seems what many of them were spectulation while being flexed in living rooms. I know on paper the 700's are stiffer, however what is the real life answer? I am currently running indys which I love, but I am seeing a need for new boots. If the tongues are softer on the 700's can I replace with my stiff tongues from old indys? I do not have any experience with the old SB's. Are there stiffer tongues available for the 325's? Thanks.
  20. I am looking for a pair of 27 indys or af700. I know everyone else needs this size. Email at shanetgroshong@yahoo.com. Thanks, Shane
  21. Buell, I will take both board bags. Can you bring them to OES, or do you need to ship them. Let me know, but consider them sold. Thanks, Shane
  22. Thanks for a great few days. Mike and Bonnie, you did a great job hosting everyone. Bryan thanks for all the pictures and videos, as well as my favorite board in the line-up (Tinkler 185). My goal for the rest of the season in to tame the 196. I got to say Able set the mark. I look forward to the rest of the season, as well as riding with you all at next years OES. Shane
  23. So I don't know if I am the guy to ask. I use two fingers, but I generally always take my glove off so I can really get a grip.According to the the directions that come with TD2's it says, "toe clip latches securely down onto boot". I can tell you this I have, I have no play in the set-up.
  24. D.T. Very nice post. It went over my head, but it definitely sounds like you know what you are talking about when it comes to stress/fatigue and so on. In response to wavechaser: Fin emailed and asked me to send the broken parts and bindings back to bomber, and said he would take care of it.
  25. So this has gotten a little heated. That was not my intention. My intention was to get a response and solution to my problem with the TD2s. I may have seemed a little defensive in response to some posts, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. Since my first breakage I have ordered another pair. Now I have three pairs of TD2s. If I felt like the product sucked I would not be riding them. I just sold off a pair of Cateks even after I broke my TD2s. My loyalty to the product is based on all the feedback of users of this site that support Fin and the products he makes. I got back into riding last season, and have been buying all the boards and bindings I can afford. I did this to see what I liked and what I wanted to ride in the future. I think this has gone too far, but here's the deal..... When I see a whole site dedicated to alpine snowboarding, and bomber's product I want the best for them. We all know these are the only people we've got to keep us in the loop. I know bomber builds the best binding on the market, and I only want to make them better and see our sport succeed. Consider this as the motivation for my posting. It seems that there is a trend for people to point out the right and wrongs of riding, or how we should be riding, rather than support the people that ride because they love alpine snowboarding. We all know how sweet it is to carve a big alpine board. There are a lot of skidders out there who only dream of doing what we are able of doing on a snowboard.
