  1. Loved the session "Oregon Style". Thank you Mike and Bonnie. I appreciate the time and effort you put into this, and helping our sport become better each day. Also I want to say thanks to the board builders and sponsers, it was great to talk and ride with you. Great time riding. Sunday was one to remember, deep, light and fast. New Diablo Composites in the works based on Sunday. Looks like breakfast in the parking lot will be the mainstay for years to come. Plain and simple it was great, and I already look forward to next year. You know one thing at OES it will most likely go down "COOS BAY STYLE." Tim you are the Man.
  2. Bryan, I like the pictures. The wide one looks good. See you soon. First couple of days at Bachelor are going to be good. Shane
  3. I got one with one day or two days on it. Email at shanetgroshong@yahoo.com.
  4. Just checked I have three packs of venison backstrap left. I know Dusty loves the stuff, and it sounds like you do to. Looks like the early risers might get the goods. Look forward to seeing you Coos Bay. Shane
  5. Okay dude it is showtime. I am bringing the big pan, and colinco cooker. Now when you see this pan you will say it is Coos Bay Style. Cinnamon rolls, will only be the beginning. Fried sturgeon for lunch. Heavy on the fry and oil. Not exactly heart healthy. Shane
  6. I will be there in force. I thought of the tasty beverage (rumplestiltskins) just last night as I pulled on my tap handle. I am evening thinking about bringing my little cook oven to make cinnamon rolls in the parking lot. Now that is Coos Bay style. Dusty will be there also. He rented a house at the inn of the seventh mt. We will be there on Tuesday night or early Wednesday. Shane
  7. Quentin, I can't wait to see you at OES. I must say thanks for telling me about Ninkasi in Eugene. I have now had a few kegs of the stuff and really like it, and that funny feeling it gives you after a few. Look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks. Shane
  8. Mike, Take it easy. Remember you are the host of OES. Hope the leg is good look forward to seeing you in the near future. Shane
  9. Riding was great today at Bachelor. We had about three inches of new over really firm carving snow. It rode great for about two and half hours. It also may have been that I had not been up for about three weeks. Looking forward to OES. See you all there. Shane
  10. Notice I said had a grocer. My neighbor now has it. It was my only chance to get him to ride a longer board than a 165. I thought the board was very hooky on the back end. It would start to carve and then hook in the tail. Way to soft for me, but I am pretty big. My suggestion is to go tanker. Very fun boards that carve very well for what they are. I have a 192 and 200. I prefer the 192 over the 200. It carves better and seems to be just about as fast in powder. Just my opinion. Good luck.
  11. Hey if you just do the rear foot you will find that you have far less movement when going to intecs. My point is that each foot will have a different feel on the board. Something to think about.
  12. Why is it that a guy gets a new board that he is totally excited about and then he gets put down for the binding choice he made? It seems we should share his excitement. We have all be there. A new board is exciting. Does it matter what binding he or she rides? Abosolutely not. As long as he or she has fun in the sport we all enjoy. Now lets try to remember that each person is different. We all ride in our own way, and we all have different types of equipment. I do not believe an administrator should be a critic of ability, style, and equipment if it does not meet his specifications. Keep in mind administrators/moderators are not critics. Please do your job and manage the site, rather than causing trouble. In terms of control and balance it all has to do with rider input. Each rider reacts a different way to his/her equipment. I don't want to make subconsious movements, rather conscious movements in determining how my boot/binding/board interface works together. I must say I like riding TD2's with intec heels, but I would much prefer to ride with standards because the system has more side to side flex. However I find standards scary and comprimising after breaking two shoulder bolts, and one footing it at speed. I want and need flex bad enough that after switching to intecs I broke every hinge point out of my indys. I would love to try F2's because I think it would make me a better rider in all situations. However my investment in six pairs of TD2 stepins has kept me from switching. However I hope to try some in the near future, and be sure if they are that good I will have them.
  13. Tim, Dusty and I will be there. Look forward to seeing you. You know we will be ready "Coos Bay Style". Beers at my truck opening morning.
  14. This post has been going for quite some time. I got the board at the end of last season and rode it a little. Now I can honestly say I have rode the board in all conditions. This is the do it all. I will say if I only had the ability to own one board to do everything the 188 BX Diablo Composites would be it. Since the season started at Bachelor I have ridden the board in powder, groomers, crud, etc. The board has handled it all with greatness. In powder it feels like a 192 tanker with more horsepower. On the groomed it carves like most 180cm race boards, and in the crud in far exceeds what I have ridden to date. It feels stable, and the 14.5 matches so much of what I ride. My board is slightly stiffer than the board demoed at OES, but the specs are the same. Currently Diablo is building me a 196, 20 waist, and 16.5 sidecut, and a carbon topsheet. I am excited to see what it turns out like. I will post a review of that board when it arrives in a few weeks. I look forward to hearing reviews of others who have ordered the 188 BX.
  15. My paypal address is: fishonnw@aol.com. I will ship on Friday morning. Thanks for checking in. Shane
  16. Used donek 182 Adam Smith, asmith182gsa, 20cm wide, 15m sidecut. The board had a grind and tune from the Race Place in Bend, OR at the end of last season. Has not been ridden since. Has had storage wax on since the end of the last season. Small ding on sidewall, not structural. $250 shipped to lower 48 only. Please email me at shanetgroshong@yahoo.com.
  17. Got your email, and emailed you back, but your mailbox is full. Unfill it please so we can make the deal. Thanks, Shane
  18. Used set of bomber bts for sale. Good condition. One side has red top and bottom springs. The other side has blue springs top and bottom. $60 shipped. US only. Email me at shanetgroshong@yahoo.com.
  19. I have read all written in the previous posts, however I see one reason for the hangle or vist plate. I have a Kessler with a hangle. I believe the main function of the hangle is to distribute pressure on the metal board. I am quite confident I would dent that board or break it without the hangle. I had the chance to ride the 185 SG last season, and wouldn't ride it without a plate of some kind. Basically because I did not want to potentionally damage a $1500 board. When you take the hangle off the board and check it out you see that the foam under the metal is made to create an even distribution of power. The other function is to create a board that feels torsionally stiff. I sold a couple of my boards after riding the Kessler with hangles because my other boards that I thought were great became less than desireable torsionally. I ride with Indys and td2 intec and believe it is a great combination. These are just my ideas on the system. I am not trying to open a can of worms with this post, but I believe it is hard to comment accurately until you have ridden with a plate system.
  20. Thanks for your help. The last seems to be great. Shane
  21. Does anyone have the full link to ebay alpine gear? I had to reset my computer and lost my link that somewhat cuts to the chase on just alpine gear listed. Thanks for your help. Shane
  22. Finally got a chance to ride the 188 BX today that I earlier posted about. We have spring conditions, but the board held a great edge and felt like a race board. The board was also great off groomed in the crud. I can't say enough about the performance. I found the board to be just the right combination torsionally along with the right flex for me as a bigger rider. I look forward to you all being able to ride one and hear your thoughts. Mine is the first production board and many more to come over the summer months. Don't know much else other than it was great and I can't wait to see what Abel and Eric come up with next. Shane
  23. The board is done, however I have not seen it. I told one of my buddies to ride it first because I have been too busy working to ride it. He said it looks great and rode even better. He told me it was going to be just what I wanted. More to come later. Shane
  24. I got a Kessler GS with a hangle this year. I ride mine with TD2's and indys. Ride is as hard as you want it won't give up. You will find that you can push on the nose much more than you think. I believe now that is the great thing about a Kessler and the KST sidecut. It just makes the board hook up. Have fun, and I want to hear all about it. Can't wait to hear. Shane
