  1. Ben, when you get the base lodge, just go to any of those outside ticket windows, and they should be able to give you your X2 card. Conditions where killer today...a carver's delight! It should only get better w/some snow on the way. See you monday.

  2. JPG123,

I would be interested in taking both of the 174cm boards depending on the rider weight spec for them. Can you tell me what weight range they were made for?

please email me at vtgs500f at yahoo dot com.

if weight works I will take them.

  3. It's great to see this thread revived! I would guess that a ladies day is in order. I would love to ride w/any of you ladies that want to come to Stratton.

It looks like I've got Fridays & Sundays off this winter. Do one of these days work well for anyone??? Let me know what you're all thinking and I'll see what I can do.

I'm already looking forward to this!

  4. I have to agree with Bobby Buggs here. Time on the hill is what improved my riding the most. The first season we moved to VT, I was able to ride everyday. That season was like 3 seasons in 1(wish I still could do that:)). I remember that with each new day, I would feel minor improvements, and movements felt smoother, as muscle memory kicked in. I remember the first day I made a really good heel side turn, and I thought "holy crap, that felt so right, I need to do that again and again"!! Little things came to me w/more time on hill. You can read all you want, and talk about carving until the cows come home, buy new equipment, but in the end, time on hill really makes a ton of difference.

FYI, not saying that reading about carving, chatting about carving, and trying new equipment doesn't help, as I know that it does. But, in order to make improvements, you must ride.

  5. I don't think rocker is just a "west-coast" thing. Almost every set of skiis in my shop is at least partially rockered. Many of the freestyle/freeride boards that I've looked at, also have some rocker. It does offer much better "float" in deep powder, for the west coast conditions. However, rocker does also allow for easier turn initiation, helping even the beginner skiier/rider feel more confident in their skills.

  6. Buggs, you're definately not going to hear the same review from everyone. I think it depends on the strength of the rider too. My VSR handles like "butta" on the cord and handles east coast crud quite well. However I would opt for a different board on a powder day for better float. Are you looking to replace the AM??

Me & my VSR are in :1luvu::1luvu::1luvu:
