  1. Hi Flyin H., What is the condition of the base and edges? Thanks
  2. Hi Powdrchasr, There are a couple of adaptive sports programs here is Sun Valley. One is Sun Valley Adaptive Sports , and the other is the Wood River Ability Program (headed up by Marc Mast, adaptive sports director of Sun Valley Ski and Snowboard School 208 622-2248). You might try getting in touch with one (or both) of these groups for some tips. Here is a link to a ABC Nightline segment that featured a visit by some vets to our area for some skiing and snowboarding. Good shredding to you!
  3. cdoughggg! Glad to hear you'll be back soon, but there will be no mercy shown to those who do not get to ye ol' goods first. Well..., we'll leave you a track or two in Jerry's Neighborhood, seeing as how it is named after you. Let it snow
  4. Nice work b. Your file holder is a great idea. Another quick tune-up for a scraper can be made by taking a piece of adhesive backed sandpaper and sticking it to a smooth surface (like a counter top, or a cut-off from a sheet of MDF or other smooth sheet good). With the big surface area its pretty easy to keep the plastic scraper perpendicuar to the sanding surface. Simply work the scraper edge across the sandpaper, applying pressure as you move the scraper up and back (move it in a linear fashion - how to put it? - the same type of motion you make when you slide a credit card through a check out scanner - if that makes any sense) :) . I make my own adhesive backed sandpaper - using spray on 3m adhesive on regular (cheap) sandpaper. Happy tuning!
  5. We go up on the River Run side. Either way you approach the mountain, you may wish to head right over to Seattle Ridge to get warmed up. The runs are solid blues and the snow is usually very consistantly good - north aspect, so the snow seems to hold up well there. Looks like blue skies and sunshine for your trip. We are getting some inverted conditons (high pressure here often brings warmer temps on top of the mountain) so its quite comfortable out there. Those temps are allowing for less snow making, but conditions should still be good for you vaca. See you on the slopes! :)
  6. Hi Buster, I'll look for you guys on Sunday (I have to work the other days you're in town). My wife Laurie and I are usually up there early on the weekends. I'll be in hardboots with a popcorn bucket on my head (not really, just a light blue helmet - the popcorn bucket got soggy, so I had to get rid of it). Chris
  7. Hey Jer - Sorry to hear about the Canyon Crunch to the ankle. How is it doing? Laurie and I shoveled out some deep gullies down there for you today. Cold and clear, great conditions. They are making snow like mad, and the groomers have been buffing it out. It was really good today. Heading over to Warm Springs to watch the Ski Tour half pipe comp. Hope your injury wasn't a season ender. Link to The Ski Tour web site: http://www.theskitour.com/
  8. Thanks for this post Bryan - great stuff!
  9. Your stuff is not half bad, and the other half is coming from you, so you're in good shape. I ride a lot of stuff I find on ebay and at local swaps. I'm about 5 11 and 160 and look for Burton Ultra Primes in the 162 and longer sizes, Burton 163 e-decks. The e-deck/e-series is a great starter deck, but I can recommend them any time there is new snow - I ride one all the time. I also have a nice 172 Nidecker that I bought at a local shop, which is a gas in mid season when I've got a few runs under me. Have fun and pay attention to the side cut radius of the boards you are scoping out. The Blade Series boards from Donek look intriqing. The 170 has a waist width of 22.5. My edeck 163 is 22. (Sidecut radius on my e-deck is 9, Blade's is 12.25 - that is longer than my Nidecker.) I'd love to have the opp. to try 'em all! http://www.donek.com/06_specs/0607specs.pdf :D
  10. Hi Jer! It was great up there yesterday. Laurie and I were on it early. It snowed pretty good for several hours, and the wind was howling. Real exciting and fun. Few people. The groomers should be great this morning. We're resting. Take care, Chris Leman:D
