Me with some swag from a contest at Schweitzer. Mid 80’s.. maybe 85 and 86? Still have two boards in background. RoroSnow
Left picture : Might looks like dirty snow but is actually sand. That board was was bought end of spring '85 that's why I started on sand dunes and not on snow! No brand board, 1,5cm stack tip to tail, hella stiff like a door, edgesless build, small swallow tail, and 3 aluminium fins.... High end bindings made of re-cut PVC pipes, velcro strips as straps and no highbacks "surfy" style...... Right picture : Said board next winter in the Pyrénées Mountains....You can imagine the good times I had learning to board on snow with gear like that.......Haha..... Today's gear is so much fun, but I feel lucky having started boarding in the 80's with that kind of gear. It truly was good old years, and something i will never forget no matter how hardwork it was.....
