WTB: Good Slalom Board

I've got:

1) A never ridden Cocoon Lotus 158. She's got 11mm scr, progresive to tighter on tail, and carbon composite structure.

2) Nidecker Extreme 156. Tis is a beater, but cheap ;)

See my tread for more specs:

Alan,

I have last years Madd170, which I proceeded to hit a rock with and put a 3/4" core shot in the base. It was fast... It went from race board to rock board in seconds.

I'm interested in the 158. How would it compare to the 170?

Big enough for me?

Thanks in advance for the info.

Scott

he will let you ride one, he has a stack of demos

or if you should be in MA there is a guy down here that has some as well

the 158 is stiff in the nose area just in front of the inserts, I don't like narrow boards when the snow is all rutted up but if you can deal with that you probably will like it

Dude

Dont hesitiate, I passed on Alan's 158 b/c I already have one and it has upped my riding level a few notches in teh handful of weeks I have had it. Not as relaxed as teh 170 as far as initiating turns , but if you want something that will do tight turns, large open ones and be fairly stable at speed for a 158, this is the board to go with, IMHO.

Dont expect to be lazy on it either. This board also helped me gain my confidence in carving steeps. Riding heavy in the nose and it holds an edge like a mother.
