tex1230
Wescott wins Gold! USA USA USA! Silver - Zidek Bronze - Delerue
skategoat
Way to go Seth but did he really have to say: "I'm only seeing it from the U.S. side but seeing the amount of marketing that went into this Olympics based around snowboarding, I think snowboarding is really becoming the heart and soul of the Olympic Games," Skaters, hockey players and especially skiers are going to disagree. Snowboarding is a johnny-come-lately and Wescott's statements just fuel the us vs. them mentality. And what the hell happened to Jasey Jay? My satellite feed kakked out just as we were going into semi-finals. Dang snowstorm.
philfell
I think what Wescott said was true for the U.S. We have 3 gold medals in the 3 events so far. And snowboarding has made up more than half of the total medal count so far. So far 9 medals given out in snowboarding, the U.S. has 5 of them. philfell
Just got to give a shout out to Graham. He went to Torino to help Curtis with Wax testing, he got a last minute spot in due to an injury. He had his equipment sent from Ut to Torino had one day of training, and made and good showing. He got knocked out in the first round, but still a good showing under the circumstances.
skategoat
Just caught the repeat broadcasts. It was great to see all the hard boot setups. Too bad for Xavier and Drew Nielson, crashing out early. Same with Jasey. What a fantastic course. It made for exciting TV. Sure beat the heck out of X-country skiing. AndyYT316
Hey Graham, good job getting yourself out there and being able to race! Even thought you only got one run, that's one more than you would have gotten by not getting there. That's crazy that you were there to do wax jobs, then you got to race too! That's sweet! Good job to Seth Wescott at taking gold! I was cheering him and the other americans the whole time. I was surprised to see Xavier Delerue riding a soft boot setup, I remember him doing great on the alpine setup. Did I see someone riding the prior 2010? Sweet race, and I can't wait to see Lindsey Jacobellis kill it tomorrow. Go Lindsey!
