big canuck
Yes, its true. I had Bruce make this for me and it's a little stiff for my novice ability. I have ordered another and need to sell this to finance the new one. The serial # on the side reads"WCC 184 FCW 06KC1-7.1" As the serial # would indicate it has the World Cup Consturtion upgrade. It has a 19.5 cm waist and other than that it will have the specs as seen on Coiler's website. It is in Primo shape. It has 2 1/2 days on it. I just had the "A" wax job on it and I will not ride it before I sell it. These are super hard to get. I would'nt sell it but I'm getting another. It is the black topsheet with the red tribal design. Pictures available upon request. Serious inquires only please. It cost me $750.00 Canadian and I will sell it for $650.00 Canadian (about $575 USD) + shipping. Thanks for the look. big canuck
intersting trades or offers? Any mint-ish Swoards avail 175 ish size? Like new Burner 188's?
trikerdad
7.1 is fairly soft for a 184 Coiler FC, especially for a "Big Canuck". I have a Coiler 184 FC that is 6.8 on Bruces stiffness index and it doesn't seem overly stiff, but then I weigh 220. Would you be interested in a Madd 170 in trade? You can't have too many Coilers. skategoat
Wait a minute. Isn't 7.1 stiffer than 6.8?
big canuck
That's my take on it.
Neil Gendzwill
I agree - so what weight is it made for?
big canuck
When I spoke with Bruce he figured it would be built for a guy around 220 lb's
trikerdad
I may be wrong but, I believe Bruce uses a very simple deflection system to measure stiffness. Less deflection (a smaller number) means a stiffer board. I've emailed him and asked that he explain his system.
big canuck
What!? Cat's are sleeping with dogs!!! Please post a reply when you here back from BV. Thx TD. KC
Mike T
See this thread: http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?t=8230 Scroll down about halfway, I included (with Bruce's permission) the explanation of how stiffness index is measured. I know from emails with Bruce that for a given board length, "higher is stiffer". I had a 184 PR, stiffness index was 6.7, it was just right for my 190+ pounds, 7.1 would be somewhat stiffer. BTW trikerdad - good meeting you on the lift at SES.
trikerdad
Mike, thanks for clearing that up. I was pretty sure he used a simple deflection method but thought he measured the actual deflection. I did know that you have to compare like length boards for an accurate comparison. trikerdad
I received the board yesterday and what a beautiful piece of work. I can't believe somebody didn't snap it up before me. It was in like new condition and exactly what I would have ordered for my second custom Coiler. Thanks Kurt
