Erik J
Actually, due to plate tectonics, the Catskills as a whole rose by 12,000 ft over last weekend. I'm suprised it hasn't made the papers - probably because of the Olympics. Windham and the surrounding mountains are now higher than the Rockies - SWEET. Sure we lost a few thousand civilian lives when whole towns were swallowed by the ebb and flow of the earths crust, but think of the snow potential. I hear they are flying snowmaking equipment to the top to put down a good base for the Carvefest. Heli rides to the top are free for Carvefest members this weekend. If you don't believe me just watch your TV - it'll pop up sooner or later.
