DIY release cable for Burton step ons

I did the same mod at the beginning and finally ended doing something else.

The goal was to minimize at the maximum low back bending.....

Key chainring on the Burton release lever and a modified selfie pole with a hook....

The extended 45 cm pole folds to 18 cm and sits perfectly in my cargo pocket.

Update: finally got the chance to try this on snow today. Worked perfect. Also the step-on system is the poop, as the kids would say if they had to deal with a language filter. It works really really well. Even with max forward lean it was easy to get in and out. The connection is very solid.
