metjeep
We are new at this carving stuff and would like to run with a couple other folks for a bit to kick us along the learning curve. Thanks!!
bobdea
and get some runs in with Dave and there are a bunch of racers at steamboat that are a fun group as well ohh the best "mini bump" I have ever been to is in Steamboat Springs as well, Howelsen hill good for a couple runs on the cheap and it has some pitch. It usually has nice firm conditions. its open at night too.
philistine
I have a winter park / copper pass. We don't usually go to Winter Park because of all the cat walks. But I'm sure i'll be going to winter park sometime before the season is over..
Cindy Kleh
I've lived in Winter Park since May and it's not very alpine riding friendly. There are plenty of groomed slopes to rip but yes, the catwalks will drive you crazy. I see very few alpine set-ups here but that could change in the next five years when they double the number of lifts and make the resort easier for riders to get around. The competition center pretends that snowboard racing doesn't exist and the kids comp program is entirely focused on freestyle. They have no chance to run gates even if they want to. It's frustrating when the only means of training for racing is in the Nastar course.
D.T.
On occasion I will take my alpine gear to WP. Drop me an e-mail sometime and we can try to hook up. Dustin
Dave Winters
If you do come to the 'Boat, by all means e-mail me and let me know. You can't go wrong, and I do think it's worth the extra drive, not that much farther if you take 9 from Silverthorne.
WPCARVER
I usaully get out every saturday and sunday right at opening and get in a couple of hours of carving. I'd be glad to ride with you. Drop me an email.Steve
Cindy Kleh
There are some incredible bump riders here. There's a Powder Tools Annual Mogul contest on March 19th. The best bumper-rider on the mountain is 38 yrs old. (Bruce Isakson) Everyone who thinks snowboarders don't do bumps should see this.
