Jack M
This video, circa 1983, is a big part of why I took up snowboarding. Anyone else remember this one? Takes me right back. I distinctly remember my dad's jaw on the floor. He's a big skier and used to surf, this blew his mind.
Mig
Ted Shred!!! I remember for sure! I was already riding for 3 or 4 years when I first saw it around 1983. It was my first time seeing action footage of someone snowboarding, outside my local crew. I passed in front of a booth at a ski industry show in Montréal that had a TV on (I think it was Salomon) showing this on a loop, with other ski clips. I stood there and watched it over and over and over and over. Could not leave. Nothing else was of interest in that ski show on that day... I still have it on a VHS tape that has additional footage from the same time period by Jake Burton and a couple other riders. I think they were Andy Coughlan and Doug Bouton. Can't remember...
queequeg
I had heard the term "the shred baron" but never saw this. I am in awe that anybody ever hauled that much ass on a pair of sorrels and a burton backhill (backhill?).
