Adas
Hello fellow Carvers, I have a very frayed Fintec cable on my rear boot...I just received an F2 Intec replacement cable from our YYZ friends in Canada but unfortunately it didn't come with instructions on how to replace it (nor can I find any pictures or videos online on how to do it). Can someone please help a very un-handy person such as myself (and who's worried about making things worse) and post a video or pictorial thread on how to do this? Thanks in advance... Aracan
First you uninstall the heel. The screws are on the underside of the heel. Then you open the heel itself. The screws are on the top side of the heel piece (the side not visible when installed). From there on in, things should be obvious.
Pat Donnelly
Printed instructions: http://bomberonline.3dcartstores.com/assets/images/PDFs/Fin-Tec Instructions v1.pdf Scroll to "Step-On Details" http://www.alpinecarving.com/bindings.html#details While you are at this, you might want to consider changing your heel screws to M5-20mm stainless bolts. http://www.alpinecarving.com/parts.html Edited August 31, 2018 by Pat Donnelly
Adas
Awesome, thanks Pat/Aracan - that is super helpful. I'll definitely look into changing out the heel screws as well, Pat.
Keenan
If you take a plastic drinking straw and cut an inch off, slide it over the cable before you put the handle on, it will keep the cable from rubbing on the plastic footbed and fraying.
