pmorita
Just bought a house near Okemo, but clueless to the better carving trails. Anyone have suggestions on a few blues for carving or local knowledge on the best restaurants? Thanks
jp1
Stop by the NASTAR race coarse and ask to talk to 'Pat', I'm sure he can hook you up with all the information you are looking for !
AlexJ
Best restaurant in town hands down is the "Downtown Grocery" Best Pizza place is "American Pie" Amazing Tacos and burritos "Tacos Tacos" I cannot recommend any trails or endorse carving at Okemo :)
GeoffV
On Jackson Gore Peak Quantum Leap is my fav on the entire mtn - black diamond Limelight is pretty good for a blue Solitue Express quad Exhibition has a good steady pitch to it Off of super quad World Cup is Okemos signature run, fun early in the morning Fast Lane and North' Easter are fun fast runs To get away from the crowds head to the South Face Lift Okemo is not a challenging mtn with a lot of variety, there are no big head walls to have fun on and most trails have the same pitch to them. Eric Brammer aka PSR
Defiance, Heaven's Gate (good rollers!), Punch Line, Blind Faith, Upper Fall Line, and oddly (though it's mellow,) Chief when it's groomed out. And, of course, check out my pipe, 26 years on, it's still World Class... Best deli sandwiches are just South of town, in Cavendish, at Singletons Store. Of course, Pat @ Nastar can fill you in, but, I worked there, lived nearby for quite awhile. It'll spoil you, in terms of grooming and snowmaking! pmorita
Thanks all, Finishing out my money pit house that is 10 minutes from Jackson Gore. Close to Killington and Stratton. Thinking about renting it out on weekends if anyone needs a place. Pierre
Eric Brammer aka PSR
As for your Location, also note Mt.Snow, Pico, Magic, Suicide-6, and Bromley as being reasonably close by...There's others as well, certainly within an hour or so. Oh, and trails, at the O, include lower Wardance to the list [used for race training, just off the Black-ridge triple]. Food, go north to The Hawk, or into town at BJ's.
