gdboytyler
On the endo scene, is the dude's board too soft or did he just overload the nose?
kieran
i would say found an unexpectedly soft patch. whenever i've flipped like that though i've been past the apex, this one seems to be right on it.
Corey
Nice video! Agreed, looks like a soft patch. I've been lucky enough to not go over the bars like that, but have had some close calls.
ursle
If you stop the video at the 4 second mark you see a rather large trench that he gets hung up on(.0001 second later), and pow, over he goes, nice conditions, great carvers, and they only touch down to touch down, not to un-weight the edge. ExcelsiorTheFathead
During one of my very early seasons trying to carve I made the mistake of turning above a stationary skier in soft snow. I flipped just like in the video and flew over the back of the guy's skis. I could have hit him and it would have been a terrible mess. Now I try to be very careful about what is below me and consider what might happen if my turn is a catastrophic failure. When I was in Colorado, Snowman told me to "get low and stay low". Having a low CG has saved me many a time when I felt the nose loading up: I was able to power through the snow with my legs instead of getting flipped.
