Late March Carving

Colozeus

Recommended Posts

I have never been to CO. Planning a trip for a week stay starting on the 20th of this month. Where would you guys recommend given the current weather patterns? As far as i can tell, it looks like conditions will still be good. Thoughts? Recommendations?

Hard to say, its been a lot warmer than normal lately.  It could also dump a foot or 2 overnight. The higher you go, the colder it stays, though lovey is expecting temps in the mid 40's  on Friday. Plan for everything and be flexible. Sorry for the non answer, but springtime in the rockies is like a box of chocolates

i was at keystone this AM, which is fairly low in elevation, and the north facing slopes

were still excellent, showing no signs of deterioration.

as mario said, generally the higher the better.  it can be melt freeze at keystone and

winter at loveland / Abasin.

I would stay close enough to go to A Basin and/or Loveland if the others are a little on the warm side, although I've been watching the temperatures for Loveland, and it has been warmer than I would like. But keep in mind that Colorado gets some of its heaviest snows in March and April.
