Mister Sandman
Hello to all! I am transitioning to riding Pureboarding style. For this is need a boot with as much flex as possiblepresently i am riding in Head Stratos Pro with softer tongue modified per Arnaud 's indications cutting the plastic and adding the ASCCI feel though they are too stiff and was thinking of getting a pair of Deeluxe. I cannot find the 225 at a decent price but I found a pair of 325 with a great price. Can anyone help me understand how the flex of the 325 is in comparison with modified Heads? is it worth the change?I appreciate all responses!!!Thank youMister Sandman
BlueB
You don't need to change boots. Just work on binding setup and technique. Also, if you liked the fit of the Stratos, you'd hate the SB shape.

Thank you for your response I actually had them bootfitted pretty heavily because I have very wide feet, so NOW they fit

If your heels/achilles are narrow, on top of the wide forefoot, the SB is a complete disaster.

Bobby Buggs
UPZ with red tongues ride unlocked, cant get more flex than that
Guest
UPZ with red tongues ride unlocked, cant get more flex than that Until the shell deforms because the boots aren't meant to be ridden in walk mode and you have to take them to a shop with a vice to re-deform them back to shape. Speaking from experience, I definitely do not recommend that.
AcousticBoarder
I have seen a kit similar to the BTS kit that is made for the UPZs, it was linked not too long ago here on the forums. Just to note, most of the flex on the UPZs is determined by the tongue, so get the red one and you should have plenty, from what others have posted, it is almost gummy like. snowboardfast
For Pureboarding you only need to ride with the rear leg in walk mode. I would think you would have enough flex for this? Sounds like the head boots will work for you.

Aracan
I have seen a kit similar to the BTS kit that is made for the UPZs, it was linked not too long ago here on the forums. There are actually two: The ACSS for Head Stratos can be adapted for the UPZ. Arnaud manufactures a small block that goes into the slit at the bottom of the UPZ spring mechanism. The DGSS is specifically made for UPZ boots and uses the same mounting holes as the stock system, so you do not have to drill the boots.
