lowrider
What is worth hitting or missing around Pincher Creek Alberta next week ?
Allee
Louise and Sunshine might be in reasonable shape, they got some decent numbers during this week (although it will have been thrashed over the weekend). Castle's the closest hill to there, but I haven't looked at their figures all season.
lowrider
Was thinking about Powderkeg, Fernie etc. Was going to be mostly skiing but hopefully one day on my sons Kessler if he can get a couple of days off from his job on Patrol at Norquay. Looks like temps are warming for Wed. Thurs. Fri. is this normal for the Pincher Creek area ?
Allee
Nothing about this winter is normal. It's depressing. To be honest, Kicking Horse seems to have the best snow at present. And that would be worth a trip if you're hitting it on skis, because it's not a carving hill.
Neil Gendzwill
Tons of snow here at Big White but it was socked in with fog today and even raining a bit.
lowrider
Powderkeg was good ! Fernie was a disaster. Norquay tomorrow then back to Ontario where it's still winter. +17 c north of Pincer Creek this afternoon. Certainly not a normal winter. Allee
Talking to a friend today and this was his take : "This Pineapple Express warm trend has been devastating to the ski resorts. Castle Mtn is closed. Fernie is on the verge of closing because it's almost unskiable near the bottom. Kicking Horse and Revelstoke have good bases, but the snow is a spectrum of heavy mash potatoes, packed cement or slush. All the resorts on Vancouver's north shore are also closed. Sad times for February that is suppose to be the peak month for good snow! " He was at Sunshine today, said that given everything it was surprisingly good. Lake Louise is also supposed to be in decent shape. I am thinking very, very hard about getting the mountain bikes in to the shop.
