two_ravens
Never too early to dream about winter! :) Allee and I are putting together plans for Christmas week. Right now we are thinking of meeting at White Fish to ride Christmas day, then migrating to Schweitzer for a few days. Allee heads home sometime Dec 29, I will twist out on Jan 1. Anybody else riding at Schweitzer during the holidays? Would be fun to meet up with some other carvers.
Pusbag
For sure we have a pack of us so hopefully you will have someone to ride with. Don't forget your powder boards in case its deep and carving sucks.
two_ravens
Awesome - would love to meet some of the legendary North Idaho locals! :) Allee has been to Schweitzer before, but it will be my first visit, so would love to have some tour guides. And I'll have powder gear for sure, just in case we have to deal with pesky fresh fluffiness.
two_ravens
Rooms are booked! Allee and I will be riding Whitefish on Christmas day, then Schweitzer Dec 26, 27 & 28. I might stay and ride a few hours on the 29th too, then head south. Think snow! And groomers! :)
kram
4 days very cool. You will probably meet the whole crew. I will have one of those day off work for sure.
two_ravens
OK - tickets are purchased! Can't wait to see you guys (and gals?) in 5 weeks. Wheeeee!
two_ravens
Hey, all you North Idaho folk - could you maybe get to work on your snow dance? Supposed to be riding at Schweitzer in a week, but they're reporting 5" at the base and only 2 runs open. :( Maybe if you could get together and do something like this.... http://vimeo.com/114382573
two_ravens
Awww.... never mind. Snow forecast looks wretched - just pulled the plug on this one. Still have a 3pac of tickets, maybe I'll be up later. We're headed to Grand Targhee and Jackson, if anyone cares to join us.
Allee
If anyone is interested in taking my Ski3 pack off my hands for NICE, or for riding at Schweitzer this season, let me know. I won't have a chance to make another trip down there this year. I think it cost me USD169 - make me an offer I can't refuse.
kram
Its going to snow every day until Christmas. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=48.379969748170524&lon=-116.63386344909668#.VJMhFVWJOub
two_ravens
kram, yes - saw that snow was coming, but starting from having only 2 runs open - that's a lot of ground to cover in one week! I'll aim for January and hope your snow dance works!
kram
You made a wise choice. Schweitzer is a busy place that week anyway and with the limited terrain it will be a mess.
